I could get into all kinds of specifics as to the technical makeup of this color, but in layman's terms it's WGG but more sharky.

And Kalahari is a baseball glove.

There. Done.

We are really getting into the weeds...(seaweed).. If WGG is more sharky, then what is Shark Gray? Can’t argue with Kalahari, unless you are using it as a verb.

- As compared to WGG: Shark Gray is lighter and has less dynamic range.

I made a layup of code GJI. This includes the new Buick and Caddy models, the original release puck from The Bash, GM's official color illustration, my modification of the GM website illustration, and the ZR1 that was a "hybrid color" between WGG and GJI shown at the LA Auto show last year.

GJI is very dynamic, like WGG, and shifts hue and value considerably in highlight and shadow. So I thought this layup would help people understand the color better by seeing it in different lighting conditions and on different shapes. And it's easier to compare the pics when you don't have to switch tabs or scroll.

The dealers do a pretty bad job with photos. When you look at dealer photos of WGG it pretty much looks the same as what you see on the Buick colors.

Default Shadow Gray

I ordered my Zr1 7-18-18 I chose the Shadow Gray 3ZR and the gray microfiber comp. seats I have seen everything I can on the new color I hope it has a blue cast like the pics I have seen. I would love to see it on a car I still have time to change anyone getting a September delivery PLEASE help me out with a pic.I still thing the Long Beach red is one of Corvette's best colors i have seen one ZR1 that color it looks Great but I am keeping my Zo6 also don't want 2 the same color. It is a lot of $ to get a color I don't care for so again any help will be greatly appreciated.

Well, the time is almost here - Production for anyone who actually ordered Shadow Gray in any regard (ZR1, Grand Sport, etc) will begin starting Monday.

duanesZ06: I can't vouch for everyone, but I think Shadow Gray has a more distinct difference when compared to Watkins Glen Gray vs the Laguna/Elkhart scenario (which will be produced in October). So I think you'll get people more inclined to get a picture out to the public at a sooner rate. Be on the lookout here, and possibly the General C7 section for pics; maybe as soon as the end of the month.

Today I went by the dealer talked to them a little about the shadow gray, they could not offer much help but did say it appeared lighter with a blue green cast for what that is worth. Anyway I made a change to my order with some recommendations from a fellow corvette form guy. I want to keep the red calipers so I changed the interior to microfiber black competition seats with red stitching and red seatbelts this should help with the red calipers if the color does not get to blue. I guess we will know soon sense Monday is first day of production. My fingers are crossed.

to the contrary. WGG is dark...in the sun and especially overcast or at night.

shark gray is light in the light. Silvery (like a shark - perfect name). Outside of hi-light its darker and fades away taking on WGG tones although without the blue in the WGG.

Same car - no sun

Lots of sun.. same car

I hope the new gray pulls off similar tricks.

I like WGG but it is a 1 trick pony. It's dark.

Well, I have three thoughts after viewing all the pictures provided throughout this thread: 1) The wheels pictured here are the best looking that I have seen on the C7 of any, either factory or after-market, 2) The Shark Gray Metallic color is the better of all the gray colors, and 3) the Z06/Z07 is overall a better looking car than the ZR1.

One trick pony? Well in the sun it goes to a beautiful metal flake what does shark gray do? WGG is a great color! Better than black with out the extra care. To each his own!

Yeah, WGG is a great color. Hoping Shadow is just as good, but with a little different tint. Should look good on the C7.

Now that I think about it, I have suspicions that Shadow Gray might be the love child of Night Race Blue and Cyber Gray.

well. Since you asked. It is actually :Shark Gray METALLIC" so it sparkles at well.

I love wgg. I also love shark gray. I actually am not a fan of cyber though. Color is too subjective to argue..

as the other member said Shadow Gray is the love child between NRB and CGM. Looking forward to new colors they are fun to look at as opposed to a color other than traditional black white red silver etc. wgg had a 2.5year run. Time to move on..

Looks like plenty of metallic flake to me. Any if theae colors that are tintcoat or metallic under certain light will shift or become enhanced. I mean look at the carbin flash metallic vents?

Much like Ceramic Matrix Gray, I might have to take a look at this once it hits the dealerships before I make official judgment. That being said...to me, it really does look like the Night Race Blue and Cyber Gray combination that I anticipated. That's not necessarily a bad thing.

It's the colour I've ordered...I'm hoping it has the blue hue that the photos show.
Here's a Z06 photo by Mike Furman from the link shared by djnice.
