Hopefully they let the A8 shift itself for the lap time runs.

Yes, Randy needs more of what he did at Road Atlanta and less of what happened at Big Willow, the ZR is completely capable of setting a new record at Laguna Seca, even with the stiff competition, and I hope it can come through!

Too bad Ford GT couldn't make it to the test. They were invited but couldn't show for some odd reason. Hmmmm. Maybe the ZR1 being there was part of it! Or the fact that there were 4 cars there that had 700 or more Horsepower.

I wonder if the ZR1 had the optional CAI on as it's a legit option from the factory to bring it up to 772 hp?

But don't expect the GT to follow in the Viper ACR's footsteps and set more lap-records just for the sake of it. "We've got new cars to work on," Hameedi said

I was hoping it would be in the test too. I thought it might be the fact that it’s a 16 car vs these 18-19 cars?

A few people saying that there are 4 cars with 700 horses. I only count 3, the huracan performante only has 630 but is crazy fast because of lambo's trick new aero system which will make the Aventador SVJ a very formidable car when it comes out.

You're right, that there are only three that are over 700 hp. It does show the Lambo at 640hp though on their website.

That's metric hp. Same with the 720S. It is 720 of their hp but only 710 in American ponies

Technically speaking, the 720S is rated at 720HP but makes around 690whp. The GT2RS is rated at 700HP, but it makes around 680whp. The ZR1 even though rated at 755HP puts down 650-660whp after certain milage. So its outgunned by the two and they both are much lighter than the ZR1. If the 720S has R compound tire on it, i think it will be the fastest car followed by the GT2RS and then the ZR1.

Ford built an awesome looking car that should be in the top 4 performance-wise but amazingly Ford won't allow it to get into the hands of a real driver on a real track where it will be videoed and timed......hmmm, I wonder why.

That is a good point current European manufacturers' hp ratings are about as reliable as US ratings were in the late 60's. The new M5 is rated at 600 hp but makes 625 at the wheels!
Charts I've seen put the 720S at 690ish whp, the GT2 RS at about 685 whp, and the ZR at 670 whp. So considering engine placement, crank hp should be pretty close. Hope Chevy gave that car the intake! Should be interesting!

Default And! :0

The ZR1 doesn't handle better than the ZO6. And the ZR1 and GM's GT3 RS matchup at the Nurburgring by a magazine driver is precarious at The C7 best!

The Willow ranking still holds. The 720s doesn't have enough DF, and the GT2 RS has that too.

Laguna Seca is not a track that ZR1 will excel due to elevation changes and tight turns. Its a track cars with rear/mid engine and less torque tend to do well.

Have you read MotorTrend's ZR1 review? ZR1 pulled less lateral g in skidpad than Z06 and the willow time of ZR1 and Z06 are very close.
