Default C6 ZR1 vs C7 ZR1?

Is it just me or do you guys think the C6ZR1 would be nose to nose in a drag race with the C7 version? Ive driven a C6ZR1 and it was extremely impressive.. I keep seeing so many disappointing videos of the new version so im curious is all that extra weight uses up all that extra hp? Ive seen plenty of videos showing a C6 ZR1 beat a C7z06 so im assuming and guessing it would be a really close race.

Thoughts? To me that is very disappointing because look how much faster the ZR1 was then the z06 for the C6 version. It seems like the same cannot be said in the C7 lineup. I know it would kill a C6ZR1 around a road track for sure but I am talking only about drag racing.

Nothing is more hilarious than a clueless Mustang owner with no experience with supercar ownership nor track time, playing expert on the Corvette Forum. Only those more clueless take you seriously.

As a curent owner of a C7Z and C7 ZR1..as well as, a former owner of a C6 ZR1, I can say unequivocally, the C7 ZR1 is better and faster than both. As great as the C6 ZR1 is/was, it’s simply not in the same league on too many levels for your inexperienced brain to comprehend.

What a horrible end result right? I feel like even the C7Z06 might be really close in a drag race with the lighter weight and much less drag. I cant wait to see someone try the c6ZR1, manual on manual and both bone stock. I would almost put my money on the C6 sadly...

My C6ZR1 is lots of fun, but Id think if the C7ZR1 can get a little traction and be automatic, it would crush my C6ZR1 in the 1/4 miles.

It would be interesting to see, to the 1/4 the C7ZR1. To the 1/2, I think the C6ZR1. 60 roll, C6 ZR1.

Not sure why this thread was even started...you have GM's advertised time (Harlan confirmed this for the 2019 ZR1) which under "normal" weather/track conditions are fairly well representative of what the cars can do....11.3 @131MPH for the C6 vs 10.6@134MPH for the C7! With the higher trap speed of the 2019...how in the world do you expect a C6Z to pull away from it from a roll???? The C7 even has a higher top speed.....it's the other way around!

Usually it is 60-160 rolls lol. Who knows, this is all speculation other than the 1/4 run. Due to the ZR1's aero, I have that feeling it will start to slow in acceleration after the 1/4 mark where the C6 ZR1 will keep pulling hard.

I understand but it doesn't make any sense that the C6ZR would outpull the C7 only to lose out at the Terminal Speed of 203 vs 212MPH...

For those of you quoting the C7 time or how fast it is, do remember c6 is manual and for your comparisons, you need c7 zr1 to be manual. I dont remember gm claiming 134 mph trap speed for manual. A magazine recently got 131mph and 11.1s for A8....

I do agree that it’s highly unlikely that the C7 ZR1 would lose to the C6 ZR1 however when you bring the timed element into the mix it’s not how fast you go it’s how fast you get there. I’ve seen top fuelers run a 7 second 1/4 mile at 75 mph.

You don't need anything.... The C6 only came in manual. It's run what you brung as long as both are stock.

I'm your personal troll.

At that speed (200+) weight does not matter much. The C7 ZR1 if behind would pull on by due to sheer horsepower. That is why Hellcats are so quick on the top end. That and gearing of the A8.

Try not to run into any A8 Camaro SS in your Rustang or you'll be seeing a pair of tailights from a 4,000lbs Camaro burying your Mustang from any speed any where at any time of the day lmao.

Don't you troll children have anything better to do? Your glaring jealousy of the new king is ridiculous with your never ending stupid non fact based troll posts. Keep it up and it may land you time off.

Fact People who have ACTUALLY OWNED /Driven the C7ZR will confirm it is quicker in all aspects over the C6ZR AND C7Z

get over it. Read the Forum rules if you need something to do.

How many showroom stock M7 ZR1's have run quicker than 10.664 @ 132.92MPH? How about quicker than 10.260 @ 135.35MPH with just a tire change?

People, at this point, this ENTIRE thread is pure speculation. No one here owns a C7 ZR1...yet. So if you want this thread to continue, the personal jabs and attacks stop now.
