Follow up---After crawling all over the car today, I have to admit that the fit and finish is excellent. The paint job is as good as that on my S63, Every thing is tight, and again the hump is out of site out of mind. Now, comparing the exhaust note to the Z06 is a WOW, the Z06 sounds wimpy compared to the ZR1. GM did a great job with the exhaust. I still can't believe that this kinda just dropped into my lap. Thanks to all for the kind complements.

I forgot to mention that the dealer saved everything that they took off the car including the white wrapping that it was delivered in. This was their very first ZR1 out the door and the salesman said they were told not to drive it. The car had 2 miles on it.

Default A Great ZR1 day

This morning at sunrise I took the ZR1 out for pictures around town. I am not a very good picture taker especially with a black car, but they are descent. A couple of the sales people at Classic Chevrolet in Grapevine, TX really wanted to help me get a ZR1, but allotment then and a waiting list a mile long they knew it to be an impossible task. When I found this one, I informed them and I did feel guilty not buying from these great guys, but they understood. They told me when I get the car to be sure and bring it buy for a look see. So, this morning I drove out to Classic and it was like Santa Claus had arrived. Everyone wanted to see, touch, take pictures, fondle it in the worst way. The words repeated were beautiful, awesome, gorgeous, what a car, best ever looking Corvette. One of the salesmen who requested I bring it out pointed out a bug splatter and said he would be right back. When he came back he had spray and cloth in hand and "2" ZR1 baseball caps, black & blue. He cleaned almost the entire front bumper and by the way he had a client with him. This was the first black ZR1 they had a chance to actually see and like the color and wheel combination. Of course, they had to pop the hood and more pictures. When I got ready to leave, the salesman told me that there is a ZR1 brochure and that he was going to order me one. Now granted, I did not buy the car from him, but he was so glad that I dropped by. I offered him the keys to go test drive it, but a rain check. Later in the afternoon, one of my Mercedes AMG internet posters stop by and we took the ZR1 out for a spin. His first time ever in a Corvette. We did a couple 0-60 below 4000 RPM recorded. Impressive and he thought the exhaust sound was enhanced through the speakers. No, what you heard was the real deal and he loved it. We took a couple of tight clover leaf like turns at considerable speed to test it's cornering ability. I think he liked the car and he kept saying "so much carbon fiber". All in all a good day ending with a trip to Sam's to fill up. Now it is time to go give her another bath.

I have to say first that I prefer the look of the ZTK (one reason why I ordered mine) on the ZR1. But your black low wing really looks great. It might be the best looking low wing ZR1 I've seen. It looks very clean and more balanced that other colors, perhaps because the hood bulge (more visually balanced by the tall wing) is less apparent with the darker color. The whole car looks sleek, almost a sleeper, which is very appealing.

The wing is pretty much indiscernible.

- Yes, but I also disagree. The one aspect of the C7's styling I don't really like is the very rectangular rear. This is exaggerated by the Z06's spoiler, and by lighter colors that contrast with the vertical elements of the tailights. The ZR1's low wing reduces the "chopped" look of the rear by continuing the upper door line and lengthening the rear. So while it is subtle, I think it is also a profound improvement.
