Airborne!
I posted these pics in another thread but thought I'd pull them out to separate thread so I don't derail form the OP any further. I received the pictures from SP Shenandoah last week and there are a few neat pics of the car getting four wheels off the ground at ~125 MPH as you go over the crest on the back straight. There is a bend in the track leading up to the crest so you end up pointed a little towards off track to the right as go airborne, then you need to get on the binders to drop in the Karousel. I had to lighten the airborne pics quite a bit so you could see the wheels from the tires from the shadow so the color is a bit washed out.
Here's one of the car lifting the inside wheels in a corner and another that shows how much tire deflection you get on the rim even with the Cup 2 tires.

This shows what a marvel of Engineering the tires have become. Composite, heat range, weight carrying, side force, then you add speed 200 mph, and ware and water management. These things always amaze me! Congratulations Michelin and others.

He’s not running Michelin tires... he’s using Pirelli scrubs if memory serves.

Sean, how did the suspension handle the landing?
Did it bottom out on the hit or upset the car in any way?
Do you have your DSC installed yet?
Way cool!

I am definitely comfortable pushing the car in the slower corners like on this track. I was sliding around a lot in this session.

A buddy of mine was on the chassis controls team for the 2nd gen CTS-V while it was being developed by HPVO. They specifically put something in the RTD controller of the day to deal with an airborne event. Basically the car knew, I'm assuming because the shock travel had reached its max in all 4 corners, that the car was off the ground. So it would prep itself by changing the shocks to deal with the landing.
I'd assume the Corvette has something similar in it.
