Hopefully, the moderators have made some updated decisions about @johnglenntwo , so this new thread doesn't go down the same path as the last one.

I found this:
Jonny Lieberman
"Let me just say, the ZR1 is a big boy over turn 1 here at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca. My gosh. #corvettezr1 #chevy #zr1"
https://twitter.com/mt_loverman?lang=en
I'm curious to know if it has enough downforce to go through turn one without lifting.
I've also found this recently:
"Coming into turn one the car was beyond 150 mph, still accelerating hard as entered the brake zone.I pushed the stop pedal hard, and the ZR1 dutifully spit my eyeballs out of my head”……”Why on earth would anyone want a self driving Corvette? That would be like having a self kissing girlfriend”
http://gmauthority.com/blog/2018/07/...#ixzz5NVzjxFx8"
EDIT: ^ REFERS TO ROAD ATLANTA NOT LAGUNA SECA TURN 1
But by far, the one that takes the cake for new finds, is that the Honda in this test group overheats. The world has gone mad!
"According to the logfiles, the ECT peaked at 251.6F."

Beetlejuice has been given a vacation.
As for the test - really looking forward to the data on this class of cars. It's definitely a stacked group of top machines. Curious in particular how the 720s does on that particular track.

Based on that gmauthority article it seems they lapped both the low wing and high wing versions of the ZR1. Will be interesting to see the deltas..... including to the Z06.
And again, the braking seems phenomenal....
One of the comments does say that the ZR1 was delivered with worn out Michelins.... Which was the reason for the poor 0-60 and likely would cause mediocre skid pad results.
How would GM send and engineer and PR guy but old tires on the car?
Skank, can you confirm any of this? Or is the gag order too specific?

I think people are confusing the Car and Driver comparison of the ZR1 vs the GT2 RS with MT's BDC. If I remember correctly, it was the CD test that GM sent a ZR1 with worn out tires (I think they admitted that in the article). The ZR1 MT used was a silver car with the ZTK and the car CD used was Sebring Orange, so that throws the same car theory out the window (anyone remember when CD crashed a C7Z and GM forgot to plug in something and the Z did terrible at BDC a few years back?).
Also, a car with worn tires isn't going to stop quickly from 150, which was noted by the comments. Not only that, but historically MT always gets extra sets of tires so if they were worn, they would've been replaced. If anyone else has Instagram, look through their stories for BDC and you can see tons of tires in the pit garages at Laguna Seca.

If the above quote is true, that is about 8 mph faster than the record 1:28 run Randy did in the ACR-E.
Anybody that can come into turn one at over 140 mph can definitely reduce their Viagra dosages, LOL.

The real Motor Trend article can't stand up fast enough.

As exciting as it is, we should hold speculation until the article is out.
We should also make it a point to not excuse any manufacturer for sending a car in poor condition. if it were to happen. You run what you bring.

I did some fact checking on that quote and I think I will retract it. It appears that poster misappropriated the quote to Motor Trend as well. It belongs to Automobile Mag and Road Atlanta. See here:

Thanks for clarifying the article....Motor Trend usually starts putting out small tidbits of the comparison a couple of weeks before the main article hits the newstand/website. Looking forward to the numbers (not the subjective part) this comparison produces.
