18.5 gallons at 6 pounds a gallon = 111 pounds.

6.3lbs per gallon of gas x 18.5 gallons = 116.55lbs.

3615 - 116.55 = 3498.45. I'd say within 2.5 lbs is pretty accurate. 3501 vs. 3498.45

I'd say that it dang accurate considering they ship these cars with probably only a gallon or 2 in the tank.

You don't understand basic things like how much fuel weighs?

Awesome, thanks for doing that. I predicted that 1ZR vs 3ZR would be about 30-35 lb delta. Looks like it's right in there at 32 lbs.

So here are the weights I know of relative to the ZR1.

88 lbs - ZR1 vs Z06
55 lbs - 18" wheels and slicks vs stock wheels and run flats
32 lbs - 3ZR vs 1ZR

Sean, are you saying the 18" wheels/slicks weigh 55 lbs less or more than the OEM setup? I'm guessing less.

The 18" wheels (Finspeed front, CCW rear) with Pirelli scrubs were 55 lbs lighter than the OEM ZR1 wheels with Cup 2 tires. The Forgeline 18"s I have might even be a tad lighter.

Just curious..... "HONESTLY"

Were the 1ZR and 3ZR weighed on the same scale?
Did either/both have comp seats?
Were either/ both auto's or manuals?
Did either have chrome wheels (OK, just kidding on this one)

I would have assumed a 1ZR would have been more than 32 pounds lighter than a 3ZR. That's not even a 1% variance

Thanks for any additional information you can add!

**** Disclaimer: The only option our 1ZR came with was the gas guzzler tax...…….Seriously

The difference from 1ZR to 3ZR has been about the same across multiple different people weighing their cars. It's always in the 30-35 lbs range. You're just not loosing that much weight as most of the components are still there. Think about what you really don't have - fans in the seats, a homelink remote control, the HUD itself, what else? The components are pretty light and it's not like a 1ZR means crank windows and manual seats.

Get Tillet racing seats which are under 10 lbs, can get that car in the low 3400s. Does the ZR1 have carbon driveshaft? Hmm, what else can get that weight down? Stronger lighter wheels from forgeline too. I think by then youll be in the 3300lbs range.

Pretty sure the zr1 also has a CF driveshaft like the Z06.

Go to Katech Z06 weight reduction thread. Lots to lose. Quick list:
-full titanium exhaust
-carpet
-lightweight flywheel and clutch assembly
-racing seats
-plexiglass front, rear and qtr windows.
-roof skin vs full roof.
-light battery
-brakes

That's without completely stripping the car. Lightweighting without stripping costs A LOT.
