Acknowledge that. ACR was a beast! Another purpose built sports car and one that would be fun to own.
If you are going to compare horsepower then you have to compare money spent. Each manufacture chose to spend money where they chose to spend it in order to make their performance car. Porsche just happened to chose to spend a lot more money than Chevrolet to make their produce their car. I am sure GM is more than qualified to improve the ZR1 and sell it at a higher price. But that is not what they chose to do.
I am not flaming any of the manufacturers. All the cars on that list are outstanding cars. But some people gripe about the quality or performance of a Corvette especially when it comes to comparisons. But money buys a lot of quality and performance. You cannot dispute that.

The ZR1 was within 3 seconds of the fastest lap which was performed by the Porsche 911 GT2 RS. A car that is virtually unobtainable. And even if you can obtain one, its true cost with ADM is approximately $400,000! With the exception of the Viper ACR, which is no longer available, all of the other 5 car which had a quicker lap than the ZR1 are CONSIDERABLY more expensive than the Corvette and are also difficult if not impossible to obtain. The ZR1 can be purchased throughout the United States at a MSRP of $125,000 to $150,000. They are easily serviced at virtually any Chevrolet dealer. Bottom line, they're easy to obtain and maintain at a very reasonable cost, relative to the competition. The ZR1 wins in the real world, hands down!

You could also say its “only” 10 mph slower to quarter mile (compared to 720s and gt2rs which both trap 140 and above vs 131 for zr1) which we know is usually difference between two classes of cars.
You guys are just hilarious. You literally want to see what you want to see and cannot remove the blinders. Even if zr1 did lose to base 911 carrera you would find some angle to defend it

You quote “3” to make it look like its a small difference but on that particular track 3 seconds is like 20 seconds in nurburgring (which btw sort of makes sense given we know what gt2rs did there and zr1).

No I will spend same amount of money as zr1 and get a gt3. Almost as fast but way more raw, stable, fun, and higher build quality overall. Zr1 costs way too much for $49,000 stingray interior and fit and finish and a big *** push rod old school engine with a supecharger

The funniest part of that is widespread use of OHC tech actually pre-dated widespread use of OHV (pushrod) tech.
And neither are new tech - each with its pros and cons.

Have you driven one? I've had a lot of nice cars (Aston Martins, Porsches, Mercedes', BMWs). I'll stack the fit and finish of this car up to all of them. This is not a cheap car, and I think it's a bargain.

The zr1 has performance and features. Fit and finish are bottom of the list.

WRONG...... Better take a look inside a Stingray, then a Z06 then a ZR1. There are obvious differences. However my decision to change was based on performance, and the BIG *** wing and all that carbon fiber, and improved this and improved that.
