Default My car was delivered

Finally, it's here!

I'm so fired up. Unlike many of you (or even most), I've never owned a Corvette before. But I read all about this car, and decided I had to have one. Hell, I never even test drove a Corvette. So while I can say I was a bit nervous ordering the car sight unseen, I can unqualifiedly say that it has easily met expectations. The fit and finish is fantastic, the car pulls light a freight train (I'm still in the break in of course, so I can't wait to see what it can do at higher RPMs), and the exhaust note is at once melodic and angry. I love it!

I have installed the Corsa X pipe and the cold air intake. I also took the car immediately to Car Toys, where they installed the Mac Daddy of all radar detector/laser jammers (the Escort Max Ci 360). I did so of course not to evade law enforcement, but rather to make sure that I properly observe all reduced speeds in construction zones and reduced school limits if I miss their signs!

By the way, and for what it's worth. I choked a bit on the price tag for the carbon fiber roof. But man-oh-man, does it look good. I love it, and am very glad I pulled that trigger!

Congratulations. An absolutely stunning looking Vette. Enjoy it, but more importantly be careful in it.

- Congrats on your car, looks great!

But did I miss something? What is the "carbon fiber roof" reference? Don't all ZR1s have CF roofs?

BEAUTIFUL ZR1! Take your time to carefully acquaint yourself with this wonderful vehicle. I can attest it is sometimes difficult to stay within legal guidelines while driving on public roads. I am certain you now feel the wait time was worth it. Personally, I am like a cat pacing on a hot tin roof waiting for my ZR1 ZTK, A8 GTR. My car was built 08/13 (Admiral Blue) but still remains at 3800 as of today. I keep theorizing the "why" aspect of this delay. Considered QA, parts availability, trucking logistics and damage. Hopefully no damage. Congratulations to you and welcome to the Corvette owner's world.

The big problem is before you know it the speed increases with ever so gently your foot on the accelerator pedal by 10-20 mph unlike other cars. You should be out polishing it instead of being on the internet now. Good luck Salmon fishing.

Wow! Congrats and welcome to the Corvette Family, for some of us it’s been a lifelong sickness...I mean passion

Knowing mine has been built I’m like a 7 year old anticipating Santa on Christmas Eve...but I can live through others as I wait...

Thanks everyone for the kind words. It's very exciting. Unfortunately as Kinsale notes above, I leave on vacation for 2 weeks tomorrow (first world problems). So she'll just have to wait a little longer. To those of you awaiting your build/delivery, may your TPW advance tenfold!

And for anyone worried that I chose this car to join the Corvette family, don't worry. I won't pile it up. I've had plenty of fast cars and I'm a recently retired racer (SCCA, NASA, and BMW Club). So I'm smart enough to know that this car warrants my full and undivided attention, nannies engaged!

If you haven't joined a club, I suggest the Lone Star Corvette Club. It has a lot of members with a lot of events.

Your new car is beautiful, best of luck with it, as said be careful, with this Corvette bad things can happen quickly.

I have 2 roofs, one clear and one CF. It's a $2,995 option. Option Code C2M.

Congrats! Know you are excited!
FYI the Carbon Fiber roof is Standard. The extra charge was for the clear roof
