Blue Wave Hits
The last Admiral Blue (GTR) ZR1s have been built. Mine (#874) was built 08/13. After nine days at 3800 status and 4B00 (Bayed) on the tenth day I began checking. The dealer received an invoice on 8/22 so I began checking. The invoice reflected a shipping date of 8/21 so I called Jack Cooper Transport to see if I could get more info. I must compliment Jack Cooper Transport for the assistance they provided. 8/23 I called the dispatch center and was informed the vehicle was in fact "bayed" meaning it was parked somewhere outside the Bowling Green Plant, waiting. What for? Nobody knew. Could be parts, QA or simply waiting for a full load to transport to my geographical area. I was politely invited to call back in a few days that perfhaps they would know more infomation at that time. About an hour later I received a callback from Jack Cooper Transport and I spoke with one of their drivers. The JCT driver said he found my ZR1 on the lot and was loading on the transport truck as we spoke. He advised that he would deliver my car to the dealer the next day (Fri. 8/24) approx. noon, give or take an hour for traffic allowance. As promised, I received the call at 11:45 a.m. my Admiral Blue ZR1 had arrived. Although I did not arrive in time to pesonally speak with the JCT driver I was pleased the car was still in the shipping cover and in good condition. I spoke with the dealership technician doing the PDI and provided the GM Performance air box for installation and I found it was necessary to provide the five point T30 security socket to install the "TDK" big azz wing. I did this to avoid delay and any possible damage that might result from the lack of having the appropriate tool. I picked up my newest Corvette Friday evening 8/.24 and was very satisfied with the big blue behemoth in my garage. Pictures attached.

Thanks. According to the ZR1 Registry there are only 57 Admiral Blue ZR1s in existence. Now that BG is changing production to the new blue, Elkhart Lake Blue, October 1st, this color should not be seen again in the C7 production cycle. I like blue so it suits my taste just fine but color choice is a very personal issue though it has no effect on performance.

Elkhart Lake Blue is great color choice. Soon they will start accepting the orders to sequence into production of ELB that begins October 1st. I also like the new ELB color but I would not chance losing the allocation by changing the color preference sight unseen. Good luck with your potential ZR1 purchase. It is truly a great car.
