Their interest in the Nurburgring as a test bed far exceeds their interest in getting lap times.

Who cares about something not one person here on the forum can do but want to brag about it with their white shoes and jean shorts at a am car meet. They reason Chevy didn't post it is because they have a shitty time slip plain and simple. If you think they didn't make several attempts at some record I have some legit rocks from the moon covered in Alien dna for sale. They know what the car runs trust me if it was good they would be advertising it so much you would see it on Nickelodeon. It so sad that they now "calculated it"

Sure, they don’t want to show off
They have every interest whatsoever in posting times. It’s the track, plain and simple. Not VIR only in the winter, lol.
When they have a good time for the C8, they will post it. And I think it will be good.

Because the Nurburgring is a much more diverse course hence why so many manufacturers do chassis development there.

They do. They have released times and video for the ZR1 on VIR Grand and Full course.

It’s too heavy, and the transmission is too slow. DCT and cut about 300lbs..

I understand the too heavy but the total effect of a DCT versus the quick shifting existing transmission is probably a second or two lost at most.

What's the weight difference between the transmissions?

... gm boasting about the new zl1 ring time highlight what you are saying to a T. It also highlight that ig gm didnt care, they wouldn't be doing so with the zl1 nor be at the ring with the "none existing area 51 doesn't exist we deny it but hey look at us here we are" mid engine
Really the only platform that has no time is the c7z cars... bummer!
