That looked like a lot of fun. Those kinds of sessions are why we spend so much money on this hobby. Two equally matched car/driver combos going at it. Congrats on the new PB.

Iirc early build 720’s were known to shed some small exterior plastic pieces at speed. Supposedly taken care of with later builds.

Either way, you are a blessed man to have and get to enjoy both. Enjoy!

I don't have an explanation. It's hard to fine people that weigh stock cars with stock equipment on quality scales but so far what I've seen is right about a 35 lb difference from 1LZ to 3LZ and from 1ZR to 3ZR. I'm not sure where a 100 lbs would come from, it's not like we're going from power to manual seats.

Wow, you win the eagle eye award for catching that. I have no idea.
Sean, quick ?

Did you drive the Macca with all ESC ‘aids’ turned off? Apparently the cars on track perform so much better when all of the electronics are turned off.

Great review and video! The ZR1 is still a deal at its current price and proves it can hold its own on shorter tracks. If you were to run at Road America or Watkins Glen, the differences between the two would be amplified. It a great experience to get to drive the 720 anywhere!

LOL!! It will be a long time I’m afraid!! As I said, 2 of the 3 guys I know that have
a GT2RS will not be bringing them to the track to run. They will continue running their .2 GT3’s and RS’s they have. One of them trailers it to the track to show but that’s it.

Thats been my point all along: only the cars that are going to make it to the track are actually the best “track” cars. I have 4 friends with Lambo Performantes that have never been to the track! Hell, I had the 3rd Aventador in the country back in Oct 2011–had it at the track within 45 days just to see what it could do. The pics are still on the MVP Tracktime website.

Anyways—that’s why I find so many posts on this forum to be comical with the lack of perspective they represent. Just a lot of keyboard bench racing IMHO.

Finally have the break in miles on my ZR1, headed to Road Atlanta in Oct—can’t wait!

I was running Homestead yesterday and guess what? The only ZR1 there was just watching other people run and today I saw the same car at Cars and Coffee in Palm Beach. So this problem is not only a Porsche problem.

since you asked, 😉, one has already shown up at my home track Mid Ohio. Granted, this was the first session of the weekend therefore I wasnt pushing to hard.

the owner said this is the 3rd time bringing the car to mid Ohio. He previously had a turbo S.

I did see him again during the 3rd session and had no problem passing

It seems my GT2RS comment has been misunderstood. Mike Levitas and his son took European delivery of one a couple weeks back. They took it to the ring and Spa and it's now on the boat headed this way. When it gets in they plan on taking it to the next event and again I'm going to see how long I can keep up and run the PDR. Both of them are very good drivers and I don't expect I'll be able to hang on to them as well as I did the 720S. The only thing going for me is I will be on scrubs and I expect they will still be on the standard Cup 2. The video will be up on my channel so you might want to sub
