This is a great looking car. Same exact car I would have ordered.

I do want to say one thing though, you do know there is no such thing as new red bumper coming from the factory. The bumper comes unpainted and dealer’s local body shop paints and attaches it.

If it were me, I would not touch the bumper and just drive the car as is. If the bumper is so bad I wouldnt pick up the car. It will never look right especially on a red car you ll be able to tell.

Just trying to help.

here we go.....

are you stating this as fact?

I could help you out if you like.

the plant will not only ship a factory painted part if the need arises, but ALSO they have the ability to paint a part even if the color has been discontinued..

you just have to know the right people unfortunately and that is not an easy task.

Awesome car Deb. That's exactly how I'd order it (see avatar).

I am stating this as the son of a person who spent 40 years in automotive paint industry as a chem engineer working with the european car manufacturers. I could write a thesis on this for you but the summary is no two panels even painted in the same identical place by 2 days apart will be just like the entire components being painted at the same time.

Anything from just pure color differences under different lighting conditions to difference of orange peel patterns, and many other small details. It will be different.

i know where to look thanks to my dad so for me, i would never do this. But some people who dont know and simply just stare at a car wont probably have an issue.

I just personally wouldnt touch it. I would just drive the car as is. If it is so bad that it has to be replaced, I would not pick up the car.

Red is also not an easy color when it comes to this.

You are correct. I don't know where some people come up with their info but they should verify before they post. I am currently waiting for a "factory painted" hood for my ZR1 to replace the one that came with the car that had obvious grinder marks, swirls and clear coat blemishes. It isn't easy to get but I will not accept a body shop repaint for a hood that isn't anywhere near "commercially acceptable." They have already sent my replacement front splitter that was defective.

Thx, it’s the black part on the rear bumper, comes painted. The Dealer and my Body/paint guy have it covered. Not worth leaving the car sit there waiting on parts.

Red is also not an easy color when it comes to this.
you do realize the parts are not painted at the same time all together as one unit

that's great news. Dealers have many customers hoodwinked regarding the possibility of getting a factory painted part vs a local to fix it (which one does ANYONE think is more of an issue? lol).

did you get any side by sides with your old Z06? and are you working on some nice shots of the C6 and C7 ZRs?

Unfortunately no pics of the old and new. We had 5 ZRs line up out front with my Z06, it was quite entertaining.
