The .25" ZTX Thermal Spacers for the lid are now available! We have sheets coming in BLACK, so they won't be noticeable. Installs in a half hour with a 10mm socket!

The temp reduction with this has just been phenomenal, keeping more timing in the power band, lower temps, and ultimately faster speeds!

It’s available now, we have sheets on the way to cut. The stock photo is blue until we get them cut and can update the pics.

You should offer these for the 2300. I would try two. Even though I noticed the 2300 lid stays cooler than the stock 1.7. The 2300 beats the 1.7 in every single measure.

Ben with the spacer does the stock cowl still fit and will it require longer bolts?

We certainly can, I don't have one here at the moment. Can you clay bar the inside of the hood for me? Play dough or anything will work.
1. I need clay put on all 4 corners at the highest point as well as right in the center.
2. Close the hood, start the car and rev in neutral for me a couple quick rips so the engine rocks. Shut off.
3. Open the hood. Measure the height with calipers to the thousandth from the top of the lid where it sits to the top of the clay.
4. Send me measurements, going clockwise. 1 being closest to the driver seat, 2 being closest to the driver headlight, 3 being closest to the passenger headlight, 4 being closest to the passenger seat, and 5 being in the center of the supercharger

I'll see if there is room enough!

Yes our stage 1 version now fits under the stock cowl just fine, the stage 2 does as well, but it takes up a little more of the gasket and I want to make a taller cowl for that one. I'm almost done with it and we'll get into 3D printing to test fit. It does require longer bolts as well, but we include those as well. Better quality bolts than OEM anyway.

and how does the 2650 compare to the 2300? Is it negligable to go from one to the other when modding?

also relocating the A8 cooler on an LT4 from the belly and installing the aux GM rad in it's place. Is that the trick to running an a8 on track without overheating? Thanks
The 2300 could not be more impressive after having one on for over 4,000 miles.
The intercoolers in the 2300 are NASCAR developed to stay cooler and have no metal to metal contact and have a heat stopping seal holding them so they don't touch metal to metal so they don't transfer heat.
It runs way cooler than any of the GM CHARGERS. The lid it cools quick compared to the stock 1.7.
Watch the 2300 video form Maggy on you tube the 2300 is very sweet.
Then the 9.7 @ 140 from the 2300 at Tune time says they are very fast.

I'd say save the work and say there is
plenty of room the 2300 blower sits visibly lower on the engine compared to the 2017 blower and the tall lid.
But I decided ok I so I used some play dough and you have 1 inch or more all four corners more room than my 2017.
I checked it as well.

- Would you remind me the difference between the stage 1 and 2? I don't have my ZR1 yet but I may order my spacer now to go in the box with the other mods I'm already collecting.

Wow, I'm surprised there is that much room.

Stage 1 is the .25" spacer

Stage 2 is the .50" spacer which will be sold with our ZTX Carbon Cowl with the extractor vents for extra clearance as well as heat extraction to keep things as cool as possible! It will be OEM quality and much less expensive than the GM cowl. The GM one could be shelved or sold to guys trying to do the ZR1 front end conversion as well.

WEAPON-X ZTX Vented Cowl
- I'll rephrase then: Is the stage 2, by itself with the stock cowl, worthwhile over the stage 1? Like: What kind of temp difference is there?

And, what ballpark of price for the ZTX cowl+stage 2?

And, I assume the ZTX cowl will fit with no other modifications? Would it necessitate either the stage 1 or stage 2 plates?

Wow first I have see it! That is one huge massive heat sink of a blower that must weigh 90-100 # 's off the car. The casting of it is thick.

I don't have cowl cost yet, but considering GM wants $2k for theirs, I'm assuming I'll be less than half for our modified version. Yes it's a bolt on, completely reversible. The only differences are the top being raised a half inch, the sides tapered more to match the hood, and the vents on top to extract the heat, which will be hands down the MOST beneficial component for road course guys. I cannot explain how much heat is held inside that cowl. After driving 15m to the office, the lid was 145*, an hour later trapped under that, it was 155*, another hour it was 165* and this was NOT a spirited drive. It was half spent on the highway at 75mph and then a couple minutes off the exit. I compared that to a quarter mile rip to 140 MPH and checked it a few minutes after when the entire engine would be soaking up the heat of 10 seconds of fury. I am astonished at the temp reduction I saw just from the lid spacer. I will not have any additional cooling benefits from the vented lid until we have it made.

-Thanks. But what is the difference between the stage 1 and stage 2 plates by themselves? Or is that not relevant because the stage 2 would only be for use with the ZTX?

Ahhh I see, difference is a quarter inch. ZTX is what I've adopted for our kits, but isn't specific to ZTK cars. So, stage 1 is quarter inch spacer which just reduces the heat to the lid via conduction. Stage 2 is .5" and will include the WEAPON-X vented cowl for clearance and heat extraction for max cooling efforts. I cannot wait to test the latter based on the heat suffered by the OEM cowl.
