ZR1 build quality

She just loves her car, there is nothing wrong with that. GM spent a fortune on their paint facility at the Corvette plant. The quality is excellent. To claim otherwise would warrant pictures in my opinion, as well. My guess is that something happened to the car after it left the factory...

My observation was that ZR1’s were “in bay” (not even sure thats the correct word) an innordinatly long period of time. Mine was for sure. I dont know if that is true for all models of Corvettes, but doubt it. But lets be real, there is quite a bit more to do and inspect on the ZR1... the front end is significatly more complex for starters. Just the halo lining up has many issues with what is below it. Aside from that, it is presently Corvettes “halo car” (pardon the pun). Why wouldn’t they take extra care in its build. They would be crazy not to and probably partly explains the higher than anticipated sticker price as well.

The OP has been here 10 years with 105 posts. I don't think everyone should get too worked up....

He saw potential concerns and brought it up, only to be hammered by other forum members.
Listen, I'm not here to stir things up but I speak out when I think it is necessary.

There is a lot wrong with it when within a few posts from the OP's initial post, she tell's the OP to "get a life" and demands photos as proof of said issues because it doesn't fit her narrative.

There is a term for repairs made by the dealer after the vehicle leaves the plant if damage is incurred during shipment. I don't remember the nomenclature but one less than satisfactory vehicle delivered to a buyer does not necessarily indict the quality control at the plant.

The arrogance is strong with this one...
He didn't pick on any particular forum member's precious ZR1.
Anybody standing in front of any car can see flaws if they exist.
And similarly, there have been multiple threads from ACTUAL ZR1 OWNERS who have reported major issues, while I agree that most of the delivered vehicles have been fine.
I'm curious about some of the people here who are getting their ZR1-logo embossed tighty-whities in a bunch over observations made by another forum member.
Yes, now I'm stirring things up.

I agree with you. Whenever someone posts something that isn't glowing praise for the car or talks about discounts, she is the first to display a horrible attitude. Far from the behavior I would expect from someone that is supposed to moderate this place.

There are plenty of pot stirrers on this forum that try their best to denigrate the corvette. One does not have to look very far. I see some in that camp on this thread. And there would appear to be some that just don't care for some persons in particular. If someone posts a denigrating/ sideways opinion about a corvette with simply an opinion and don't want to be labeled as one of the trolls then you are on the wrong forum. But, back to the corvette; I will let the ZR1 speak for itself. (Oh yes, and my money).

Folks,
Proof of the pudding. Took my ZR1 to an exotic car show yesterday held at a McLaren dealership. All kinds of exotics including Aventadors, Huracans, 458’s, 720S, GT2RS, etc.
People were all over my car because most had never seen a ZR1. Let me tell you, ALL DAY LONG I had compliments on the paint quality, body panel fit, interior, and all the carbon fiber parts, and they couldn’t believe it was a ‘Chevy’ !
I’m a fanatic on quality and ever since we took it off the truck on Labor Day weekend it continues to impress me, especially after 850 miles.
GM hit a home run with this car. The non-owners can and will continue to be haters and be jealous!

If the paint is as good as my 18 ZO6 I will be happy and it is pre the new paint shop. This is a performance car, although I want it to be nice, the paint job is not why I ordered one. I have about a month to go till I will see for myself. I really don't doubt there are some issues but did anyone expect a completely perfect car for a $150,000 if they did maybe they need to consider a Bugatti!!!

Oh, I see, because someone doesn't own a ZR1, they can't possibly comment on visual issues that they see on a car sitting on a dealer's lot?

Nope, just observations.
No hate or jealousy here but no matter what anyone says, you'll have your opinion.
Denial isn't just a river in Egypt.
Wow, you guys are an uptight bunch.

your getting a little worked up yourself. Guess it's my fault but as some have mentioned , there is no shortage of so called trolls here and I simply asked for a pic or 2 to corroborate the claim. No one says bad paint and panels can't happen but lets face it, to be displayed at a dealership in that condition is HIGHLY unlikely.

What proof does he need? He is simply stating something he saw/observed. He doesn't need to take pics of it for simply stating something he saw. I don't own a ZR1 but can pick out some flaws in the car does that make me hater too? Let me ask you this if he said something positive about the car would you or anyone else here talk down about him like you have? You really don't have to answer that because the answer is pretty obvious. This sub forum is kind of like the McLaren forum, it's ok to post something as long as it's positive. Post something negative, you are a troll, no proof, Porsche owner who gets hated on, etc, etc.
Exactly, you're not the first person who's noticed this, again it comes down to it's ok to talk about the ZR1 but only if you have positive comments.
