Default Production?

I have a friend who ordered a ZR1 back in February and is currently being told that they are not being produced? I’ve not had time to search the forum so I apologize if I’m uniformed and thus has been discussed, just looking for some quick info to help him along. Thx

Your Friend was given FAKE news. Most likely Dealer who told him that doesn’t have an Allocation to get one built.

Yep, definitely fake news, I put a deposit down in Sept. 2018 for the ZR1 and I already have a TPW (Target Production Week) of 12-17-2018. I made sure the dealer had allocations before I ordered. MacMulkin Chevy was the dealer out of New Hampshire. I live in Florida and couldn't find any dealers who had allocations, but MacMulkin was estimated to get 64 allocations for the ZR1. Tell your friend to check with MacMulkin, I know its late in the game but they may have a few allocations left but you must hurry ! Hope this helps !

If you go to MacMulkin they know of a different GM who is still producing them. You just have to get it from the right dealer and GM.

Sorry to hear about your wait, bud. I feel your pain, as I waited on a list for the better part of a year, until a CF member got me in touch with Alan Johnson at Matick who actually had an allocation and then things went quickly and smoothly. Good luck and hope to see you post soon about your new ZR!

If you have a order # does that mean the dealer has a allocation.

Order number doesn't mean anything. Once you get a TPW then you know you are good. I have a TPW of 1/21 and I put my order in the beginning of November. I got really lucky from what I hear. There have been people waiting for over a year for these cars. Good luck!!

No. It means nothing till GM accepts the order. An 1100 means they have the order but they don't know what to do with it because the dealer does not have an allocation available they can attach it to. As I understand it, that does not necessarily mean they might not have one out there in the future somewhere, but it does mean they don't have one available "today" they can assign the order to.
