Default GM Cold Air Intake Box & The WEAPON X Intake tube

Get it! I’m co-signing Ben that it makes a big difference. I could tell on the way home the difference in throttle response. Can’t wait to drop the hammer after 500 miles..

I could not locate a Weapon X tube vs OEM tube.
Any comparison photos?

Yes, Air box, tube, TB port seems to be an easy & good mod.
Have fun.

Super easy mod and more power gains than the box itself The box's only gains are the more free flowing filter. Tube is seen here in the pic:

Ben, do you make a tube for a Z06 with the standard air cleaner?

Thanks,
Gary

Would there be any problems with using this and the factory warranty?? Right now I'm not planning on modding my ZR1 but I know once someone gets around me I'm going to start looking for more power..

Mine has the mods and we the subject post of a 90+ HP gain. I cleared in advance with the dealer it would not void the warranty and it has since been back for service with no issue.

I already have the GM intake in my garage awaiting the ZR1. Is there a link to just buy the tube?

-Thanks! I remember once seeing pics comparing the stock and WX tubes. Anyone remember where that was?

And...did WX do dyno runs with just the tube changed from factory so we know that their HP claim is verifiable?

Since I already had ordered the GM product, I bought the smooth intake tube from Ben.

My dealer said 'no problem' with installing it when they install the GM box, or with it affecting the warranty.

But the same dealer would not install Ben's 850 package.

Go figure...

I had another dealer down in FL install our X900 package and they even shipped the shaft assembly up here to have us press the hub and put the pulley on I just looked and they're in the Orlando area as a matter of fact! PM me and I'll shoot you their info

As a Z06 owner with the Standard Air Box, I am curious as to whether the WXM 'Intake Tube' can be fit to the Standard Air Box. I do not have any intention to go to an Aftermarket Air box.

@ Ben - do you have a link to the WXM Intake Tube Only?

Yes it should fit, but you do know the air box they're referring to is the GM air box right? It has a more free flowing filter and our tube allows the air flow to move more freely. Looks OEM, has the Jake skull in the lexan on top. Nice piece really!

Thanks. I have no interest in the GM Performance Box. My stock box has the BMS FIlter which is well proven. I am a data junkie and am not convinced the GM Performance Air Box is worth it.

I know the stock air intake tube has room for improvement. Can you advise how much more air the WXM Air intake tube allows more than the stock intake tube?

All depends on mods, I cannot speculate as I have only tested this with the air box, but since the GMPP air box just has a more free flowing filter, I would suspect about the same gain of approx 25hp ish?
