Default Splitter issue during PDI?

So I found a local Chevy employee with a 2019 ZR1 splitter for sale CHEAP. I bought it after confirming it was a genuine GM part and in like new condition. The seller said the PDI tech had an extra “just laying around” and he was allowed to take it because it was headed for the trash. Are there any documented cases of splitter fitment issues during PDI/installation? I’m wondering if it may be defective and they had to order a replacement. It’s all just very weird as I’ve seen people trying for weeks/months to get a replacement and this one was sitting at the dealer without any visible issues.

Already bought it and it’s a legit GM splitter. Identical to the one on my car and in like new condition. Just too good of a deal to pass up. I obviously haven’t pulled mine off to test fit but I can’t see where there would be a defect. Just wondering if anyone has heard of any trouble with them

They're more of a PITA to install than the Z06/GS versions for sure. I can't imagine why they had one laying around. Most of the PDI parts get returned to the plant if they're defective.

Maybe reported as “lost” in transit so it simply “disappeared”?

Stolen property. Supporting the thieves not good karma. Usually ends badly once they're caught.

You know that isn't the only thing that employee took either.

When the police grab him he will give them your number along with all others and you will have to turn it back over if they come for it.

best of luck op.
