Daytona Track Time

My 2015 Stingray switches the remotes when I change the tires. It did it flawlessly 10 times this year but often took 10-15 minutes to work. You might want to make sure all your TPMS modules are working. Of course the ZR1 could be different I suppose.

Many thanks pilbomark; nice driving and nicely done video. I have driven Daytona with another car club and loved it. As I will presumably soon (code 3000) be the happy owner of my own ZR1, I would love the chance to drive it at Daytona. What group/club organized your event, and how might I best get in contact with them?

The Audi Group from Ohio runs the three day event at the beginning of December each year. David Pierson is the organizer and I think you can google it for entry information. Plenty of track time, reasonably priced and garages!

This is great news. I have run at Mid-Ohio at an event run by the Audi Club, and was very impressed at how well it was conducted. As you likely know from personal experience, while Daytona is not very technical, Mid-Ohio (perhaps along with COTA) sets the high water mark for technical; took me two weekends just to get 'reasonably comfortable' with it.
Two questions: When I have run at Daytona, we were instructed to put HIGHER air pressure into the right side tires because of the extreme loadings imposed by the banking. We went with 'normal' on the left; 3 over on right front; 5 over right rear. As I am always a student and never an expert on things like this, I'd love to have more discussion on the topic.
I presume that your ZR1 is a high wing car, is this correct? Mine will be low wing.
Again, many thanks!

I guess it depends on the car. We ran 26 on front and rear left 25 right rear and 23-24 right front and saw pretty even tire temps and pressure built to 32-33 lbs across the board. We ran nitrogen, our tire wear was marginal and overall very pleased with tires. I will be trying the recently released Hoosiers at Mid Ohio in the Spring
