Default C8 delay means more C7, C7 ZR1?

Since the 6 month delay on c8, will there be more production of zr1s? Obviously, there should be longer run of c7 maybe 2020s or extended 2019 runs? What does everyone think?

It'd be shocking if the ZR1 was a one year only model.

So I’m a CAD/CAM guy.

This delay wreaks of BS to move existing inventory.

It is ridiculous to think this is even remotely possible in late 2018.

Yes I said it out loud.

The C8 will be a new era and a profound transformation rather than the usual evolutionary steps that we have become used to. Left over C7s will be dead meat once these mid engine C8s take center stage. There is no way GM brings this revolutionary new offering to market with 10,000 C7s looking for a home.

All good thoughts here. I've thought of all this myself. When will it be that gm will announce 19/20 plans, for the corvette?

Im surprised at the raise in price on the c7s now. Some were thinking the c8 delay was just to increase the sale on the c7s sitting on dealers lots. A price hike goes against that.

Maybe Chevrolet is using the price hike to try to get folks to buy existing inventory. If an existing 2018 or 19 Corvette is suddenly $2000 or $2500 cheaper than an Ordered Unit, maybe the price hike actually moves inventory...

they could extend the 19 model year a little bit building “ordered cars”. Maybe two weeks on.. two off like in 2009 after the crash. Skip the 20 model year and make the 21 the 1st C8 year. Or have a short(like the ‘18) ordered car only C7 model year. They wont keep making C7’s at a 35k annual production rate IMO

They also just increased prices across the board. I don't think they would do that if there was only a couple months left for the C7 but who knows.

Yep, I'll be very happy to devour a dead meat C7 ZR1 once the price of said meat drops a bit more, let everyone else go for the C8.

The price hike is on '19's making any other year cars on dealer lots cheaper, and hopefully easier to move to make room for the ME when it comes out...

And GM did not extend the production of the C3 corvette when the C4 was delayed.
