To clean the hatch window I find the large wing offers challenges getting into the rear area that the Z06/Z07's didn't, but you find ways

When you're 60 climbing in the back of these cars Is hard enough, add the big stupid wing and you realize how old 60 is I did it this morning, that posted it, getting in was the easy part.

ROTFLMAO. Too funny. At first I thought someone was having some fun messing with us but apparently some people actually do all this stuff just to wash a stinkin' car. I can't tell any difference in washing as I just pull up onto the conveyor belt at the automatic car wash until the attendant tells me to stop and points to the sign saying put in PARK. About 2 minutes later pull out the other end and all is good and clean. Hell, washing the Corvette is no different than washing my DD Tahoe. Drive in one end and out the other.

Right? As detailed as the OP is, I don't have time to notice detailed nit-noid **** like that. I see the process as "washing a car."

But I do wonder how long it took him to wash one Vette let alone TWO on the same day. Sounds like a sunrise to sunset ordeal. And then the time added for a detailed write up. Hahaha

Thanks to the OP for sharing his detailed observations between the two though.

All I notice when I wash my Z is how much I hate washing the car, especially the wheels!! Hahahaha.

Go back and troll in your Tahoe forum.
Let us know when your farm vehicle looks like this when you take it from your 50 cent car wash.

I highly recommend Weapon-X’s wing lowering brackets for around town and freeway driving. On Ben’s site there is a picture we posted for the brackets showing how easy it is to access the trunk on a convertible.

Most owners don't want their car to look like yours. I took a pic of your car. Don't blame you for not washing this.

Just to make sure everyone is on the same page...

1). I was a simple car wash (one bucket) and towel dry guy until I owned my first black car. That changed everything. The swirls were gettng worse and the car looked like crap. I researched and watched videos. That is when the light bulb went on over my head. I tried the techniques and the car looks awesome now. See pictures above.

2). The whole point of the decontamination/sealing/wrapping approach is to have MINIMUM maintenance time. Once done, washing can become a rinse and blow dry in 20 MINUTES propostion. Yes it takes a great deal of time initially. It’s a pay a little now or pay alot over time scenario.

To all the doubters out there, please understand no one is demanding you remove the swirls from your paint. It is your choice. That said, please keep your derogatory comments to yourself. None of us care to read them and it’s a waste of space. We simply like to exchange tips and information on products that work.

Agree. Z06 wheels take way too long. I pulled the fronts and cleaned them. Then I gave them a cquartz ceramic coat. It took about an hour for both. Now it’s a five minute wash and rinse for the fronts. I’ll find time for the rears one of these weekends.

Now grab a TuffShine kit, clean and coat your tires and say goodbye to nasty, slingin, greasy tire dressings for 6-8 months at a time.

coating wheels & tires is THE biggest time saver during a wash, more so even than coating the paint

LOL, no, the drive through automatic car wash takes just a couple of minutes and costs only $8. Other posters proclaiming my car looks like **** are wrong, I think it looks great. I drive my car more than I look at it and I'm not a car show kind of guy. MUCH more fun driving it than sitting in a lawn chair looking at it...

Only thing I wish is they'd come up with a drive-through car wash that would vacuum/dust the SUBSTANTIAL amount of dirt that gets in every nook and cranny with off track excursions. Car fills up with what seems like 5 lbs of dirt/dust every time I go off track...

Here's a somewhat recent pic to show it's not trashed and that the auto car wash works GREAT!!!

It really depends on whether or not swirls in the paint bothers you. I would lose sleep if I had swirls in my paint. That's the first thing people will notice when they look at the car. Why do you think so many purchase ceramic coatings as well as Xpel? Plus you're losing about 3K resale value if you sell a vehicle with poor paint.
