Default Carbon Fiber repair

Sadly, I scraped the entire length of my splitter end plate on a curb (the damage was about 6 inches long and 2 inches wide. What a moron). Rather than spending $4,500 for a new one that I cannot get anyway (or buying one of WeaponX’s nice looking replacements), I went in search of repair options. On the off-chance that someone else suffers a similar fate, I thought I’d post the solution found. Gorilla Carbon Works sells a very nice repair kit that comes with everything you need. While the carbon weave doesn’t line up exactly, you can’t tell until you are 12 inches from the end plate. It looks really good, and I’m very happy.

I hope no one else ever needs it, but if you do, this kit is good!

Post-repair. Before, it was completely scraped up!

Nice, well keep in mind... I always offer "oops" discounts for the guys who mess theirs up! Whether it's stock or one of ours that needs replaced!

Thanks for that Grapeman. I have come really close a few times to scraping that splitter. It's only a matter of time before I misjudge a curb too much and scrape it even with the front cameras.

Is that $4500 figure accurate or ballpark?

I don't remember where I heard that price, although I think it was here on the Forum. I didn't call for a price, if that's what you're asking. Even if it was $1,000, I would want to try a repair first.

Default SODP Front Splitter

When I had my car delivered the carrier had put about a 2" long scratch in the top of the splitter, so I got the dealer that sold me the car in Utah to order a new SODP splitter, with the orange accents on the ends
and made the carrier pay for it. I lucked out and got about the only available one that the dealer could find through the GM network for that SODP car and it was about $ 2,700.00 I think.

I still have the original one with the scratch so I will try using this Gorilla repair kit on it in case I need it in the future to put back on the car.
Thanks for the info, appreciate it.

Great job! Too bad the ZR1 side CF end pieces are actually part of the front splitter. The C7 Z06 stage 3 front splitter side end caps are separate pieces and can easily be replaced in case of damage. My ZR1 splitter driver's side end piece was discovered to be scraped, much like your's, when I took delivery. Somehow the dealership was able to get a completely new front splitter within a few days. I looked at the Gorilla product you used and I am considering using that kit to repair the damaged splitter. Realizing the delicate finish on the carbon fiber parts is going to be damaged to some degree it might be wise to develop the carbon fiber repair skills.
