Default Tires rubbing when backing up?

Does anyone else's ZR1 shudder intermittently as if the front tires are catching or rubbing when you back up with the steering not quite at full lock? Or when going forward at full lock? ZTK tires.

. I think you are just experiencing wide tire shudder which occurs because the inside and outside of the tire are so far apart that in a tight turn radius, the outside of the tire has to travel a longer distance than the inside. It causes one of them to have to “skid” which often sounds like a rubbing noise. The tires can even hop a little giving a vibration that can sound like a clunking noise.

does this happen even on pss tires or just cups? Does it still happen if tires are warm?

Happens on my cup tires and my pss, the colder the worse it is, my tts does the same thing, did it with the stock Pirelli's and I have pss on that too now

Mine does the same thing, and as with Carl's, it is decidedly more noticeable the colder the tires. When warm, I hardly notice it.

Thank you guys VERY much, was worried the delivering dealer might have done something wrong during PDI (besides putting the wrong wings on).

It's not a 'Corvette exclusive' issue..... Pretty much happens on everything with really wide low profile tires. Just get used to it....

Sounds like you may be experiencing the Akerman effect. This is mentioned in the manual.
