Up here today, it would be iced coffee and ice cream cones. I am old enough to remember the warm temps that seemed to have disappeared years ago

There is no way I was going to allow a ZR! to pull up beside me while driving a Z06 I had to be the one driving the ZR! I had to have it no matter what & my prayers were answered .

Several reasons.

1. Told my wife when we first started dating 10 years ago (also same time when the C6 ZR1 came out) that I had three future goals: to become a dentist, to purchase a home, and to buy a brand new ZR1.

2. My favorite color is orange. The sebring orange is a much more definitive orange than the atomic orange, daytona sunset orange, or inferno orange, on previous models.

3. The last, best front engine Vette with a stick shift. I am a traditionalist and I am not happy with the Vette going mid-engine.

First Corvette was a 1969 427ci convertible... lost count how many I’ve had over the years. Bought the 2014 C7 Z51 when they first came out.. then moved up to a 2017 Z06/07 BUT was very frustrated with the constant issues trying to track the car on road courses.

If my Z06 had been what it was supposed to be I probably wouldn’t have moved up to the ZR1... but my choices were to move to another make (meh), pour a bunch of money into the Z06 to fix the various heat related issues, etc. (but that would void warranties), or buy the ZR1. My order went in the day GM opened their system to accept orders. I took a chance that the ZR1 would be what they promised (this time).

i got #0175... on the registry as the first ZR1 built for Canadian export.

Car has been fabulous... couldn’t be happier.

It was not an impulse purchase for me. I wanted the last front engine Corvette with the M7!

I had an empty space in the garage. I actually need more space for the four other cars. I wanted the ultimate Corvette.
