ZR1 production continuing?
Anyone have any fact based intel regarding whether the ZR1 will continue beyond the rumored 2,000 unit limit? I recall seeing many months ago that March ‘19 could be the end of production. So, here we are, and nearly 2,000 units built...

As of 3/15/19 we are up to VIN 2034 already.

I believe I recently read that someone had a ZR1 TPW in April.

Yes, I saw that also. End of April. It was a while ago, so there might be a later TPW by now. I think DebRedZR1 mentioned GM only releases ZR1 production plans 1 month at a time instead of quarterly allocations as for other models. The ZR1's are still being built around 10/day or 50/week, has not slowed down.

Curious then about Car and Driver's statement and it's efficacy of continued production into next year. With the current C8 troubles, I imagine that's good for those who need a little extra time to order.

production for 19's ends in begining of april, and then 2020's will be produced within 30 days of that date.
I found this out last sunday. I wont reveal who told me this, but they can lose their job for telling me this. I have zero reason to lie here. There will be 2020 zr1's

Quags,
Harlan Charles did mention at the Sebring Corvette Corral last week that the "order book" for ZR1 was up to about 2,500 cars, with no further comment. Harlan didn't say they would actually build that many, or that Chevrolet had 2,500 actual "sold orders" from customers, but that number is not unreasonable in the context of what appears to be pretty good continuing demand for ZR1 and (real or imaginary?) delays in C8.
At the time I did my ZR1 Engine Build at BGA in July 2019, Kai Spande made a brief cameo and did say that there was a conscious effort to produce ZR1 consistent with sold orders from customers, and not to produce a bunch (my word) of cars for dealer inventory. Not surprisingly, Mr. Spande's comments generally confirm the experience or reports of others (including Chevrolet dealers) with some knowledge of Chevrolet's ZR1 product and production plans. That's all I know.

I love how people think they can't be accused of lying as long as you put that standard disclaimer out there. It's amusing.

maybe he said last orders could be placed first week of april, ill give him a ring soon, it could be that i was off on my dates... but what he did assure me is the 2020 c7's are coming.
Ill try to take it easy. Only trying to help out people seeking info. My buddy owns a chevy store and is very tight with the factory reps as their family has been in the car business since before cars were invented really (1897). I'm aware things are kept secret from the factory reps at times as well, and I'm not trying to put the rep on the chopping block, we know the factory reps down here in florida as well (his dealerships are in another state than flroida)... he also knows GM engineers as he speaks to them about his personal lemon law case, as with any lemon vehicle, the GM engineers have to talk to the dealers to get the cars problems sorted, so that's another angle of info he has at his disposal, not to mention all the other lemons that come through their store... but with all of that said, the person who told he and I is neither of those 3 sources.
GM will have a limited run of 2020's, to fill whatever orders people may place on the regular c7's. I do not know what kind of allocation limit will exist on the zr1 production in the end, i would not say GM will fill all zr1 allocations in 2020 model year production, but i would say in my best guess they will build at least 500-1000 more cars.
