Can you post the timeslip for that 9.6 pass? Pretty crazy that a part allowed the car to pick up 9 mph. That’s HUGE

Hi Farmer, when you got a chance, please post your slips and details in the fast list thread stickied at the top. I'm in the process of updating.

Thanks

He's only raced 1 ZR1 in his videos.

Brooks' 720s recently ran 9.85 @ 145 and he's very, very consistent in his cars. He has several 9 sec slips with that car.

Almost never in this section and this caught my eye. This car is bone stock with 0 mods as in showroom stock, nothing done other than tires?

Yup, along with great conditions at one of the fastest tracks in the Country. I don't say that in a negative way just stating the facts, this was an INCREDIBLE high 9 second bone stock run except for tires, but for my $ you won't see it duplicated hardly at all, b/c of ideal mine shaft air and one of the fastest tracks in the Country. No, I am not a hater, I can't wait to get one of these bad boys in my garage!! Congrats to Farmer Z, for always having one of the fastest runs out there in a new super vette!!!!!!

Maybe GM Performance is working on a e85 mod with a updated tune. 😎

Gonna need to do better than a 9.9 with a great DA and radials/skinnies to beat a 720s considering many have gone 9.8 on street tires with what some would consider average DA. It's been proven time and time again, outside of a hyper car nothing stock yet is even close to a 720s in the 1/4 mile.

R888 are not drag radials.

Could be a good race, but his 720s goes 9s on a non-dr in high DA, so with the same DA, his car should still take the win.

Awesome job for sure!
Will, can you share some details on how you get your car down the track so fast. Many of us ZR1 owners could you some pointers, what mode and nannies settings do you recommend?
Thanks, Bob

Easy, go to one of the faster tracks in the country, put skinnies up front and radials on the back, rent the track out yourself and have it fully prepped, put ms109 or something similar in the tank(not to much though),go on a day where you know you are going to have great weather/DA. While the run is definitely fast, this time of year is when you see the "record" runs with all kinds of cars/manufactures. Not very likely you will see a run like this on a test n tune day in July at say a track like Gateway or somewhere else in the midwest.

You are 100% correct.......it all boils down to perfect conditions.

This is half correct. You still need to know how to drive. I know it is supposed to be punch and go with the A8 and I have had pretty good success getting good #s. However I have seen some guys just get goofed up. You need great conditions and seat time.

Wfarmer does a great job. Most anyone here would be hard pressed to run side by side with him and duplicate his passes. He has it figured out.

Sorry........I forgot about that however I was just talking about conditions only. I was at a test/time one night in Bradenton Motorsports Florida. I ran a best 11.88@118. There was another guy there with an identical C7 convertible NPP A6. HE was running 12.5/@116. I offered to help him out somewhat because he was making me look bad. I was so much faster. One guy did not believe that my car was stock There is another guy that goes to the same track and ran 11.58@120 but he only runs there in the best conditions with driver's mod also. So yes I would separate driver's mod from conditions.

Sorry we can only post the stock pass. On the pass with the bolt-on there were 2 additional changes to the car. Honestly, we were amazed at the results! Should be able to explain when Chevrolet releases in June.

Mopar Jimmy is right. MIR and Attco are fast and Richmond Dragway and VA Motor Sports Park are close. Plus DA is so important and everything must go right on the pass. Most important we NEVER give up!

Your killing us!!! LOL. So anxious to see what the performance upgrades turn out to be. Maybe a pulley and tune? If the Chevy boys want some testing at 1/2 mile or 1 mile distance tell them to give me a call. Will be doing a standing mile in 3 weeks in Arkansas.

In all seriousness if they come up with some nice performance upgrades that wont void the warranty a lot of guys including me would jump on at almost any price.

Keep those records coming.

We know the 720s is fast. Would be fun to have Brooks come to Richmond. Who knows? So far it seems the ZR-1 love the underdog roll! I have made many passes in our Z-51, ZO6 and ZR-1. One thing I've learned from those and the Demon race at Richmond Dragway last May, the fastest car does not always win!
