Default CPR ZR1 tuning numbers video!

Here is our next episode that showcases what we achieved on the new ZR1 with a few simple things.

In the video you'll see us tune it stock, than add our 5'' cold air intake, than we put in E50. Now we stopped at E50 because we knew it would be full timing in by that % so no reason to tax the fuel system more. The customer plans on running it very soon as is than our next round is pulley and headers. Thank you everyone who is following along with this, our intakes will be on the site very soon and if you wish to order one please just send me a DM.

Thank you for taking the time to post the individual results. Did the tune make a big change or was it mostly the fuel? It was hard to tell but it seemed like timing didn’t need to be changed much. I realize the tune will play a lot into the future mods but just trying to get a grasp on this round.

On 91 we aren't going to get more timing into it. The gains on 91 were from other factors but it picked up roughly 40 rwtq in the mid range and about 15 rwhp average. Our Intske added about 20 rwhp in the upper rpm band. Than when we put e into the tank it got really fun!

Would an octane booster additive affect the car similarly to E50 (but without risking deterioration of rubber fuel line components)? At least in terms of timing and such. Also would be good to know as an option for those of us without an easy source of E50.

You would have to dump an insane amount of booster in. And there are no lines to worry about. Basically any modern car has stainless line and will be fine on e.

Very impressive for an A8! Had to laugh at seeing Nic a bit stumped at first lol!

These cars are vastly different tuning wise than the other c7's. This car will separate the people who truly get what your modifying in the tables vs the ones who just say to hell with it and hack the maf to pull or add fuel. You'll find out who as I'm sure we will see some a8's get smoked by the ones who have no clue.

Are you saying I can ignore this warning in the Owner's Manual?

"Gasoline-ethanol fuel blends greater than E15 (15% ethanol by volume), such as E85, cannot be used in this vehicle."

if you are not tuned for e50 than do not ignore that warning.

LOL it's fun to figure out how this stuff works, some tables work and some don't, and the funniest part is how the port injection is actually triggered and it's not currently in the editor. Working on that part now with HPT...

I'm currently running 100 because I have a pulley, headers, and air intake. Do you think the ecm will allow the car to make more power because of the 100? I'm running it to be safe until tuned but was curious.

not sure, i would absolutely never do a pulley without tuning.

-My concern being not the fuel lines (obviously) but ANY rubber components in the fuel system: o-rings, seals, gaskets, etc. Ethanol is terrible when touching squishy things.

Btw don't confuse my concern with being negative to your results. They are great. I just care more about the long term health of my ZR1 than adding additional performance.

Very exciting gains by Joe & Nic! Keep it up, this platform clearly has a ton of potential! So impressed with those numbers and just an intake, tune and race fuel.

Congrats!

Best Regards,
Dave
