Default New ZR1 owner - first mods advice

I am not planning on any performance mods.

Stone Guards
---------------
Looking at the ACS

https://acscomposite.com/collections...te-c7-2019-zr1

I am planning on the hydro carbon flash finish.

Should I get the XL or the regular? Is the XL too big?

Looking t the front and rear rock guards, and the brake scoop covers.

Comments?

Reverse Logic Wheel Guides
----------

How many do people buy? They have a 3 and 5 pack. Looks like a good way to keep from damaging the rotors.

Comments?

Thanks,
D.

I would add a T30 IPR socket (in case you want to adjust your BAW), Tow hook (get the original GM version so you can store it above the battery), Jack pads (if you don't already have them).

Good call on the socket. I'll get one coming from Amazon.

That reminds me, I'll pull the GM tow hook I bought for my Z06 out before I sell it.

I have a couple sets of jack pads for my C5. I will check them out and see if they will fit.

Thanks,
D.

The regular length ACS stone guards extend down enough to cover the leading edge of the side skirts which I think is the minimum that you need. I was on the fence between the ACS regular and the XL but got the regular ACS guards for no other reason then aesthetics. I also have the brake scoop guards but no pictures (dropped car off today for application of Xpel and Ceramic Pro). I also have the Reverse Logic Wheel Guides. Three are sufficient. I figure they are cheap insurance and keep 'em in the rear stowage compartment.

Cool deal.

Can you post a pic of the regular size ones installed? I only saw Z06 pics on their site.

- I got the regular ones by mistake. If I drive on gravel or dirt the MSS tires will actually toss tiny pebbles (slightly larger than sand) up all the way onto my rear deck.Which is one of only two panels on the car I haven't had wrapped. But no scratches yet, or nicks. And no damage to the PPF along the rockers or anywhere else from tire spray. So it seems that the non-XL do work pretty well.

Lift pucks. I got blue anodized so I could more easily see them in shadow under the car. And they match my calipers.

Seat stays. Cheap, but they work.

Storage compartment divider. Seriously great. Fitment is very tight so make sure you have it pointed the right way.

I also have skip shift eliminator and side marker tint strips that I haven't installed yet.

Great info - more stuff to order!

Those red jack pucks are slick (ordered red calipers). I kinda like them being semi-permanent

Would you do the XL if you ordered today or stick with the smaller ones?

Thanks,
D.

- Honestly I'm not sure. I prefer the cleaner look (and better aero) of the regular, but protecting my ZR1 would come first. The XLs don't look bad. I need more drive time to see if the regular ones protect as well as they have so far. Cause if they do then the XLs aren't necessary.

I hear ya - I am thinking the smaller ones if I get the protection.

Thanks,
D.

If money is no object, get light weight forgeline wheels. Stronger than stock wheels and lighter.

With all this talk of wheels cracking - that may happen anyway. Been looking at wheels - lots off options - pretty crowded space.

I looked at some carbon fiber wheels - those were kinda pricey.

What do you have?

I have forgeline AL300 on my viper. They are 3-piece wheels and are heavy, lol.

Check out their competition series, light weight, strong and durable: https://forgeline.com/series/competition-series-wheels/

Forgeline wheels I get for peace of mind, I have their forged wheels on my Z06's and SUV's, and carbon fiber forged on my ZR1 and Porsche's. I have had many wheels thru the decades because I'm old, been the most pleased with Forgeline wheels and their customer service, and Gerry at CWFL makes buying them simple, and they make what I want every time.

I went with the XL stone guards. I had the regular ones on my 16 Z06 and got chips. When I bought mine they didn't have the carbon fiber ones. If I make it home tonight I will put a couple pictures up. I would definitely go with the XL ones. They don't look bad and the more you can do to protect the paint the better..

I have to agree with you Deb. I'm waiting to see the final outcome with the ZR1 at Frans to decide exactly what I want to do to mine. Did you see the numbers from just Bolt ons??

If don't want damage or haven't put ppf on the rear quarters get the XL. I also had the "extended" version (until the XL's came out) and was still getting peppered. Next decision is what color; carbon flash, hydro carbon fiber or custom painted. I went with black to match my car hoping they would be less noticeable and most people never see them. Do I wish they weren't needed, yes but they are necessary IMO.

I had the rear quarters Xpelled and ceramic coated and still went with the XL's.
