Depends if you want to choose the options on your car or happy with options the dealer chose for you (car ordered for stock). If you want to order it to your liking you may have problem finding a dealer allocation and expect to pay MSRP minus any GM discount. There was a $3K discount for current Corvette owners until 4/30/19. I don't know if it was extended until 5/31/19 or not. If you just want a ZR1 and don't care about options, colors, you could probably find one for $5K off MSRP (especially if it's an automatic).

I got mine for 5K under MSRP and it was a dealer order for stock, but I would have ordered it exactly the same, so I'm very happy.

The trick is trying to get a discount on a ZR1 you are personally ordering. Like range96 mentions, you can probably find ZR1's discounted that are in inventory but finding a dealer that has a valid allocation AND willing to discount from MSRP is very hard to find. I know because I went through this. The best I found was $1K off MSRP on an allocation open for ordering by the buyer.

Did you actually read my post? I said on an ORDERED ZR1............NOT a ZR1 in stock. Please post up which dealer has an ALLOCATION that can be used to custom order a ZR1 with the discounts you mention.

For the past few months we have seen plenty of stories about I saw this here or I saw that there. I don't think any particular one panned out well after the facts/details were known. just sayin'.....

Just maybe if you were not in such a rush to post "They saw you coming", just maybe you would have the ability to exercise reading comprehension. In addition to what I pointed out above about it being difficult to find a discount on a custom ordered ZR1 allocation (NOT IN STOCK) I too checked Autotrader. And if you narrow the search to NEW/COUPE/MANUAL TRANS you get a whopping 20 results (for results- ALL MILES near me). Of those 20, six (6) are 1ZR.
Of the remaining 14 ZR1's (Coupe/Manual/3ZR) 2 were MSRP( with $3K GM rebate) and 5 (yes 5) asking OVER MSRP. and 4 at MSRP. So much for your deals and "They saw you coming"

Good Afternoon,
This post is good but is missing an important point...What is everyone paying NOW!!!
When many current ZR1 Owners on this forum ordered (not bought) their ZR1's, it was a stretch finding a Dealer with a confirmed allocation. Some of these Die Hard Enthusiasts paid whatever the Dealer asked because there was never a set amount of ZR1's that were going to be produced. It makes me cringe when I see posts that say "you got screwed" for paying MSRP or over MSRP, as if they only made 500, every single ZR1 owner would have been a genius with even the most skeptical critics.
When I decided to buy a ZR1 lin the fall of 2018, there were only a handful of ZR1's in Dealer Stock, very few allocation that were confirmed, and the majority of them were being sold from $5K to $30K over MSRP. Almost every ZR1 on Autotrader were "in transit" and those dealers were getting calls from all over the United States. I have seen many posts where current owners bought their ZR1 from Dealers far away because that was all that was available.
Starting around VIN number 1700, the amount of custom ordered allocation stated to slow and more Dealer allocation started being filled, which has created the current change of market condition that has allowed for ZR1 Buyers to get theirs for less than MSRP, which makes sense when there are more ZR1's in Dealer Inventory today (with some of them still asking as much as $20K over MSRP). When I paid slightly over MSRP, I was working on the perception that I could NOT order one, as there would not be any allocations shortly, and the market was bearing this out. There has been so much chatter about how many ZR1's would be produced over how many model years...I am not sure even Chevy had a definite plan for the ZR1 beyond 2019 as they were full tilt on having a C8 to sell by now. Any thought of waiting for me for discounts, as I am a value shopper, was based upon if I wanted to take a risk of A). Not getting a ZR1 or B). Having to buy a Used one...and both had zero chance in my book...I was not going to trust that someone else had broken in my ZR1 the way I would. Heaven forbid that I got one of the ones Chevy let the Automotive Journalists Hot Rod around!!!
Hindsight is always 20/20, but keep in mind that all of us who bought ZR1's over the last 18 months paved the way for anybody who is getting a Deal now...if they would have stopped production at 2000, I doubt anybody would be getting a discount. Chevy kept making them because we kept buying them!!! Of course...this is just me exercising my rights to share my humble opinion, you are not required to agree with me...but I still feel lucky and content that I was able to purchase my ZR1 at all.

In a 500 mile radius of where I live there's over a hundred ZR1 for sale. Whatever you're drinking you should lay off of it there's over 3,000 ZR1 and they are still building them that's not rare !!!!!
