ZR1 wheels
Does anyone know if the ZR1 Wheels are crack prone and if these are worth putting onto a Grand Sport? I love the look and have found OEM and replica ZR1 wheels. I like the open face look. Thanks

I don't know but they don't seem to be in the same class as the Z06 wheels that are so bad to crack. I've had my car a year today and have driven it 6700 miles without a problem.

Dee,
Thanks for sharing the info. My Detail shop loves the looks of the ZR1 rim as do I...but having so many failures in a short time is not good. Did you go with a 3 pc forged wheel or a mono block HRE? It seems that a forged wheel is going to set one back over $1500 wheel (USD) does that sound like the entry point for cost? Can you post a picture of your wheels on the car again?
If Spring Mountain has the ability to weight in, I would be interested on their feedback on the ZR1 wheels...they must have a trailer full of them since their ZR1 are getting a great deal of rough service hitting curbing daily. I was content with my ZR1 riding on the ZR1 wheels to Cars and Coffee until I went to Spring Mountain...now I have to worry about the numerous Track Days I will be going to now...what a blast this car is on a track. That is also why I am glad I invested in a STEK Full Body wrap and a Windshield Protective film. Lot;s of stuff flying around a track and the faster the speed, the bigger the mark.

Those wheels look great and I will stay away from ZR1 wheels. Most of those are out of my budget and my garage is shall we say, not the most secure.
CW4L - do you have or sell Cray wheels? These come in the right sizes.

No sorry we carry all the high end forged wheels and stay away from alot of the others. Been doing this along time so now we only carry what we use on our personal vehicles and understand they are not for everyone.
There are lots of less expensive rotary forged, flow formed etc etc that we dont work with but thats just our preference. You have to buy what your budget allows and your comfortable with and I appreciate your interest in our products.
Enjoy the vette and if anything changes you can reach me anytime at 440-915-6166

Gerry at CW4L is awesome. Hooked me up with a set of forgelines with Hoosiers mounted for both my 2019 ZR1 and C6 race car. Awesome selection and FIRST CLASS service. If you want/need wheels, look no further
