Aftermarket exhaust options
Hey guys!
I just got my ZR and I am actually very impressed with the oem exhaust tone and volume. I come from a long line of LOUD cars so obviously I am interested in getting max volume on this car without headers and tuning etc. I have had good experience with corsa on previous cars including a 2010 grand sport and Z06. I am thinking a corsa X and extreme cat back will be the best choice. I know akrapovic is a good option but I am not a huge fan for some reason (too pricey for some piping). Has anyone done full corsa? YouTube has a lot of C7Z vids but I can’t find the perfect ZR video I need to decide.

Try the Corsa X-pipe with the stock exhaust first- it's pretty loud. If it's not enough, this one looks good. I haven't heard it in person but was told it is loud. AFE Mach Force XP.

^^^ I guess it will fit the ZR1? It looks to be straight through which will be very loud lol. I looked it up and it retails for @$3300...that is crazy. I guess the NPP connectivity is where the price shoots up...

AKRAPOVIC, it's more than just some pricey piping. Have you ever heard one or read what it consists or?

I looked into them a few years back for my built C6Z...I wasn’t t impressed for the price. So to answer your question directly...no, I haven’t studied that exhaust for the ZR1. I loved the corsa on my prior corvettes so I was leaning that way on this car. Tell me about akra since you are a believer. And what price was paid?

>>>The Akrapovič Evolution Line system takes exhaust tuning to the next level. Featuring mufflers and link-pipes made from high-grade titanium to dramatically reduce the overall weight, the system provides more power, lowers back pressure, enhances throttle response, and increases torque. The Slip-On Line system has two valves. The system maintaines the valve regulation of the NPP (Performance exhaust) system. With an electronic device developed by Akrapovič engineers for the five standard GM modes—Weather, Eco, Tour, Sport, and Track—the system is perfectly matched to operate with the car’s drive mode selector. This produces an even greater range of options for the driver to fully experience the amazing sound of the car. The Evolution Line system, with a new X-pipe, provides even greater performance compared to the Slip-On Line system, and provides a pure race-note soundtrack for this stunning engine, with the enhanced sound characteristics of the V8 configuration and without any drone—just pure enjoyment. Four large-diameter carbon fibre tailpipes with titanium inners complete the appearance of the Evolution Line perfectly, making it stand out as something special.

Akrapovic full system, had it on my last two Z06/Z07's and have it on my ZR1, it's light and loud, and very expensive. Had Corsa, B&B, magnaflow thru the years, but nothing like Akrapovic, both in price and sound. I don't know if my Corvette's were automatics if I would use Akrapovic, but all my Corvette's have been manuals so that's not an issue for me, love rowing thru the gears and the screaming sounds that come from the Akrapovic exhaust system, it's got to be heard.

No argument from me on that! I would love to be able to compare sound on both systems mentioned above on a ZR1. But the oem is not bad especially with the x-pipe or maybe the catless down pipes.

The stock is Awesome, Akra kicks it up to an entirely different level. Ride behind one to truly experience .

Drifting
My 1994 ZR-1 with Jeal headers, x pipe, original tri flows sounded awesome outside. Inside it could be pretty bad depending on which gear you selected. On the highway in 6th was brutal unless you were going 85mph. I will not do that to my ZR1 and make it less drivable.

I want to ride in one to know the whole impact. Outside is only one piece of it.

Hey,
I'd say Akrapovic but if its not something you truly desire then I'd say Corsa is the next best one for your vehicle. It sounds RAW!!!
Let me know if you have any questions and we can get you some pricing!

That is why I purchased my first Akrapovic, I saw the system and said "why the hell would I pay that for an exhaust" then at a car show I got to go out for a ride in a Z06 with the Akrapovic system, had a 2016 Z06/Z07 at the time, by the time I got back I couldn't order the system fast enough, after that I had to have it on my 2017 Z06/Z07 and now the ZR1, I had the ZR1 system 6 months before I had the car

Does anybody know for a fact that an exhaust, in any iteration, doesn’t void the engine warranty? I’m not talking internet keyboard commandos referencing the Magnusen-Moss Act.
i mean is there solid info?
Asking because I’d love the full Akrapovic system.
