Motor authority is like gminside news....they are just a bunch of kids reporting ...GM doesn't share inside information with them...any more than they do with any other magazine...
And if they do..they are not allowed to report on anything other than what GM time table says they can report...
Gminsidenews was just a bunch of kids...nice kids..auto enthusiast young adults on the interweb..

The next gen camaro hasn't to give up the retro styling...the platforms awesome. The vehicle is fantastic.....to move the camaro to a sleeker less retro look..the vette has to move to a rear mid engine platform to differentiate the vehicle from the extremely capable alpha based camaro..
Since corvette uses its own platform anyway....going rear mid engine is a natural evolution especially since power levels are ever increasing..
Rearweight bias is required to put the insane power down throughout the road course..to get any quicker than the already impressive c7 z06 and upcoming zr1...
The corvette team has created the most amazing performance vehicle in front mid engine layout....eclipsing many supercars on the track. Costing two or three times as much..
Corvette can move to a rear mid engine platform inexpensively because it has its own platform besides if the upcoming Cadillac R8 competitor shares bowling green and platform development costs ...the corvette rear mid engine additional cost will be minimal..
I just hope GM continues to use as many parts bin pieces to keep repairs and maintaince at the same ridiculously low levels it has been for the c5,c6 and c7 era...
That's one of my favorite aspects of owning corvettes...the insane performance and minimal running costs..
Leave the dohc nonsense to the euro snobs...and the Cadillac division..lol
Just slap a jotted up LT1 in the back....and I'll also accept and purchase a DCT if it's offered...

16 Vettes and counting…..
Good Lord, do we really need yet ANOTHER thread about this, in addition to the 3,212 that have already been posted since the C &D article came out?????????
(cliff notes. Ain't gonna happen. C & D has been making this mid-engine claim for more than 3 decades...)
JHC......

Funny to see how wrong the know-it-alls were........

Looks like it some real potential. Tough to tell with the body camo, but I'm certain it'll be nice looking.
Likely storage will take a hit. The space behind the seats in the C7 is quite large and holds a lot more than one would imagine. Even if the new model has front and rear storage (thinking Cayman here). C7 has it all over the Porsche for utility.

I think 150 is doable on a loaded ZR1 then most need to also add for sales tax and other taxes. I would say 125 and over to get a any ZR1 on the road.

I bought my 2014 C7 (#1209) in April of 2013, and am looking forward to trading her in on a 2020 C8 next Spring. I have nothing but praise for my C7 ("Lola") - she has been a dream to drive, and she still looks as good as the day I saw the prototype at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show.
