Default I put my name on the waiting list for a Zora ZR1 today.

If it ever comes to a reality, supposedly for 2017.

As for now I will enjoy my supercharged C7.

My dealer requires a $500 refundable deposit. But if and when these come out I think there is not going to be a big production run on them.

I've already got first dibs on a C8 at my dealership. They are borrowing my $5000 deposit interest-free.

Eeeek, they wanted $5k? Glad Stingray only wanted $500.

I figured if I waited till later I would forget and be way down on the list.

They wanted $20k deposit but I talked them down. Those pesky dealers are stiff negotiators.

Who even knows what it will be called... it may be a C8 or it might just be the C7 ZR1. Whatever it is I want one.

Gut=ys here in Tampa were putting deposits on the C7 almost 2 years before they were available to order.

I guess for a refundable deposit of $500, that's not a bad deal.

I can get it back anytime. Once more info is released on this car dealers will be getting a waiting list. A year before the C7 was released my dealer already had around 30 deposits on them.

Guys, its SUPPOSED to be a 2017 model, which means there would be a chance they start building these mid/late 2016. We are just about into 2015 already. Not sure about your area but the big dealer already has close to 100 deposits for Z06's and only a guaranteed 62 coming in. They are also the 8th largest Corvette dealer. $500 is not a lot to hold a spot.

But dont let that get in the way of someone feeling the need to bash someone for doi g something they wouldnt do. They love to do that around here. I agree $500 isnt bad at all.

Early in my Corvette days I put $2500 down for the rumored "King of the Hill" C4. 2-1/2 years later I was driving and loving my 1990 ZR-1. Even got in local newspaper's article about this super Corvette which helped me in my business.

My point in relating this is simple--it was worth the temporary loss of use of the $ and it was worth the wait. If having the next big thing in Corvettes is important to you as it was to me then, then just do it! Fun is important.
