I assume somebody from GM monitors this forum. You would think he or she would let that dealership know.

Wonder if you get your deposit back when there is no Zora available. Someone should give old Kevin Will a call and see what he is up to.

Well to be honest.........2 of the large Forum dealers that I know of are taking deposits already. There a probably more. "My dealer" who always sells at sticker told me to expect it as a 19 model. He wanted $1,000. For $1,000 just for the heck of it I said why not????

One dealer had 7 in front of me the other 22.

Each to their own.

I was thinking of calling Mike Furman to put down a deposit on the C9 Nuclear-Powered Hover-Vette coming out in 2025. But I'll probably wait and go for the Zetron-ZeroSix Version.

I wonder if Les Sandford knows Kevin Will is advertising a car that isn't made yet.

I can tell you that my Hendrick dealership here in Kansas City has taken 10-11 deposits for the Zora already......call me crazy, but laying money down on something that isn't a "for sure" is not my cup of tea.

Do not see tying up my money for something that may never occur. As of now you do not know if a Zora will be produced, what the cost will be, the demand for it if it does get produced.
But your money to do as you please.

If Hendrick is taking deposits, they would be the most reputable at this time. Rick Hendrick and GM/Chevrolet have extremely close ties. They might know something that others don't. It is very possible.

I am sure the deposits are refundable and $1000 for many people is like a penny in a pocket. Considering you don't get a return on a $1000 bucks in a bank. The depositors aren't really losing anything over time. At least they know if it happens they are first in line. Not a bad bet.

GM invested $135 million retooling the BG plant for the C7 and the PBC. Recently a new $439,000,000.00 plant expansion began . It's not just a paint shop. Although the current type Corvette we know and love will continue, the expansion is mainly to allow for production of the much more expensive mid engine model. It won't be ready for several years. The paint shop is but a small part of the project.

With interest rates so low it's no big deal to tie up a few grand for a few years to be on the list if it's important to you.

GM's got to up the ante now that the 2016 Ford GT is on it's way to production... So its not a matter of "if" the Zora is gonna happen, but when.
(and guess who is going to be the first to get one?!)

Kevin Will booked my 2014 order at Les Stanford so I'm sure they know. It's only a deposit I bet is refundable like mine was. I don't see anything wrong here. If you want to get in line, put a small deposit down.

I put a refundable $500 deposit down over a year ago. The problem is this. If there is any "REAL" news leaked that GM is working on a limited production run of these cars like it has been speculated, then you better go that day to put a deposit on one. I put a deposit on my 14 C7 back in Feb/March of 13 and I was 36th in line.

I'm very interested in this mid engine car that may, or may not be in development. I understand that it is all speculation right now but if it does happen then at least I know I am in line with a deposit, because if they are limited production, they will be nearly impossible to get.

People can laugh and mock all they want, but I'm not even noticing $500 out of my bank account, and I can get it back any time I want. So its better to be safe than sorry if and when this rumored car is ever announced.

The funny thing was over a year ago when I was putting the deposit down, the inventory manager and I were laughing as what the hell to call it. He wrote like C8-Zora-Mid Engine Corvette....

Actually could be an great investment for someone willing to flip the car (if it comes out), I'm sure there will be plenty of people throwing fistfuls of $$'s over MSRP to get one.

Rick Hendrick has an estimated net worth of $1 Billion dollars. He is a top gun in auto racing and a top GM dealership with numerous dealerships across the country. GM gave Rick Hendrick the 1st C7 Z06 off the line. This guy is "the" sharpest tool in the shed for sure. He is quite the businessman and a very well respected person in the Auto industry.

To the person willing to spend over $125,000-$150,000+ for a premium sports car, making a deposit of $500 is nothing to them. Smart move Motohead279.

Cheapthrills.....you are 100% right on! If the mid-engine Corvette happens it will be history in the making. Anyone who gets their hands on ownership of one of these cars will have a winner in future value. It's a no-brainer to make a deposit if possible.
