Default C8!

Anyone hear anything about a C8? I have only heard rumors. Possibly coming in 2017. Seams a little soon to me.

If you saw it on Facebook, don't believe it. I doubt the C8 debuts until 2022 or 2024.

And the most boring. Fast does not always mean fun, engaging and exciting. Just read the latest reviews of the new Acura NSX. I really hope GM does not go that route with the C8.

For what its worth.

Electric just doesn't do it for me. But then I'm old(er).

Many Trade Rag articles seem to think the next generation will be mid engine and not V8....

I have a friend who works at GM in Detroit, and he is very involved in the C8 project. He can't say much, but he does tell me it is not going to be what anyone expects, and is DEFINITELY worth the wait. He did confirm that they already have many prototypes rolling around the studio.

Read an article that GM trademarked "E-Ray". Guessing new powertrain for either C7 or C8 that incorporates an electric option, power adder.

Heard a lot of rumors about a mid engine. Lot of "Artist Renditions" floating around as well.
We won't know for sure until GM releases a press statement. Until then it's any bodies guess.

I don't see them incorporating electric motors for cost reasons alone. All of the hybrid super cars are near $1M.

I hope they stick to NA power and avoid turbocharged engines.

They've been saying that since the c5 era. Every couple weeks since I got my vette someone sends me a link about "the new mid engined vette"

Technically, aren't the C5 and later cars considered mid engined?

I want to say the rumor has been around for much longer regardless.

No need to troll up this thread with a bad attitude. The discussion is half the fun.

If an electric motor/hybrid system lets them satisfy the eco-weenies and lets them keep the V8, I guess that would be good.
