Now more than ever, the Zora mid-engine Corvette rumors have merit. Or don't they? You be the judge.

If there is a mid engine GM vehicle, it will be a Hybrid Cadillac twin turbo V-6 of about 550hp with two front electric motors adding another 200 hp and priced somewhere between $200-250k designed to compete with the new Acura NSX.

It will be a Corvette! It's GM's Halo car and it's most expensive car! It has the affluent customer base and enthusiasts base, it has the racing history and it has the cachet! No other GM car possess this combination!! It's anomaly among GM and Chevrolet and the only brand that deserves and can carry an uber price tag!

The price tag part is correct currently. However, when the XLR was out, it was the most expensive GM vehicle.
If GM decides to put out a mid-engine performance vehicle, I would not be so sure that it would wear the Corvette badge. I could just as easily see it as a Cadillac XLR so GM produce limited quantities at higher price points and continue with the Corvette line for individuals who do not want to spend super car money and still want the historical american sports car.

I live near the Milford MI proving grounds, thousands of employees, and I know a few. The secrecy requirement is high, a good friend will only tell me he works there but "never sees the track". lol After a couple beers others tell me mid engined mules are and have been running there for some time.

I don't think there is any question that a mid-engine Corvette in coming…only when and what it will look like remain in question. I doubt it will resemble the photo shops that have been floating around for years, including the one on this forums home page. My guess as to when would be either '19 or '20.
My biggest question would be, will it be part of a two-tier program with a less expensive front engine car? And my greatest hope is that it is NOT a Cadillac!

Look at the C5 versus the C7, see the difference in technology spend, and you see that a program that was shelved due to affordability, all of a sudden becomes a lot more affordable.
I love posts like these, they never have done it so they won't do it now! Please, the chatter is there, people have see the experimental prototypes, and there are people working on the program (with suppliers sourced). Once you get to that point, you can't keep it secret. In fact the only reason it stays "secret" is people like you don't believe anything until some slob in marketing tells you it's happening.

Yea? They wanted to do it then but couldn't afford it.

Compared: cargo/trunk space in a 3x8 series mid-engine Ferrari compared to the trunk space/cargo of a C7 Corvette....
I own both. I prefer the C7 for cross country trips?

corvette will never have a mid engine corvette model....
What market would justify building one? Why do they need to compete with the very few other mid engines out there?
The corvette sells a hell of a lot to waste time and money on a $150k car that will sell maybe 50 a year....

It won't, so your arguments aren't even valid. 50 a year? Try 5 to 10 times that (250-500). Remember this is a global game now, this car would be a worldwide halo.
