New Spy Photos of GM's Mid-Engine Supercar - Sept 12, 2016

If that's the case then I'm confused. I was pretty certain it's a Caddy, but that's a Corvette door.

I'm sure when all said and done, this thing will be amazing. Heck, I'll buy it just for more traction. It was 60 degrees this am and I had to drive like " Miss Daisy " was in the trunk.

Looks similar to a Lambo Gallardo:

Yes, it does. I've never liked the side profile look of the Gallardo's front fenders.
I have no doubt such a vette would capture the attention of the younger generation coming up. I know that is what GM is going for, but they better not go nuts with pricing. Nobody is going to buy a 90k base vette in 2021 or whenever the production version for the masses comes out.
As for me, a 36 year old, I have a hard time wrapping my mind around this being a corvette. I like the proportions from the doors back but the proportions of that front end looks like a knock-off of every mid engine car ever made. I may be getting old...

Probably won't be very different. However, where you see the "diaper camo" (the thick black type) there are body panels underneath, however between the camo and the body panels there could be "plastic extrusions" to change the shape (to hide the panel underneath).
But 100% for certain the envelope you see there is the car, all the "real" body panels are contained. That is what GM calls an IVER (Integration Verification Engineering Release) car. IVERs unlike MULES are built with "final" CAD parts, not other cars that are cut up.

That's what I asked a couple post back as well. Should be interesting, the general rarely disappoints on power-plant.

dream on. it's not the taillights. it's everything else about the c7 rear end design. just because others don't agree with you doesn't mean that they are idiots.

Well I'm thinking it won't be replacing the C7 anytime soon, we are only entering year 4 with it. The shortest period for a corvette platform so far has been 8 years, 1997-2004. So I'm thinking we will see the stingray around till at least 2020, that would be 7....it took guys 2 years to get over the round headlights, just think if the entire line went to mid-engine haha

I get that... and that's not what I was talking about. Most sources are saying the "supercar" will be a Cadillac. LT1 says these mules have all production panels on them. The car pictured clearly has a C7 a-pillar and door on it. If it were a Caddy then you'd think it would have a very different door on it.

Since GM Performance would develop both vehicles, and realistically they could be identical from a chassis perspective, one could assume that development would start on one, then move to the other. For example the ZERV IVERs could also be cut up and used as Cadillac Supercar MULEs in 3-6 months. This would also stagger the introduction to allow for maximum marketing. But if we don't see different body IVERs soon the Cadillac if it still exists would be launched 18-24 months later.
