If the mid-engine Corvette is not available with a manual transmission...

Given a choice, I would still choose a traditional manual transmission over an automatic... in a Corvette
There is just something raw... a direct connection with the car that you get with a manual transmission, that feel is lacking in an automatic.
About the C8, nowadays practically every sports car with an automatic can be driven in "manual mode." Yes I know, it's not the same and it won't satisfy the purists. But without a true manual transmission, I guess it's the next best thing...?

I have owned a Gallardo ( manny tranny ) for years and I thoroughly enjoy rowing thru the gears. Egear = BORING.
They should offer new owners a choice. They will sell. F430s & Gallardos are actually fetching a premium over autos. So the demand is still there. I admit it is waning though.

I love driving manual corvettes but if the new rear mid engine corvette is offered with a DCT I'd order it.
I believe a manual transmission will still be on the menu for corvettes ....just as Porsche has found purist love manuals..
