FYI a mass market OHV V8 from one of the manufacturers costs about $830 to produce in purchased materials not including labor and/or development costs or ignition system.

GM could make a production Ariel Atom, 3.8 V6 and transmission mounted mid-engine, Corvette front suspension.

88 was the best year.... and just like GM, they killed it off... had they got it right the first time, it might have evolved..

Indeed, the Roger Smith years were the "bad old days". GM of that era seemed to have the motto: "Why do great when OK will do". The 1988 Fiero GT was a really good car, sadly, by that point, the Fiero was so tainted that there was no hope. Why not do it right (in 1984) to start?
