Adaptive aero may be coming for the ZR1? Or maybe the C8?
The camo mules didn't look like the wings or splitter were movable?

Two things I noticed besides the active aero words. Round taillights and coil overs. Both are old tech ideas that still have a place in a high tech world.

After reading the Patent Application, I believe GM is looking many years down the road as design patents have a life of 14 years. A few thoughts: a) Adjustable splitter or adjustable air dam as described under (0029) sure could be beneficial to those that might want to change the angle of this for getting in and out of drive-ways. My splitter rubs at home and I've played with mental ideas of how I change this but won't. b) Hood shutters as moveable louvers in the hood. Wow, now that could be a first. c) Specialized adjustable diveplane. After what happened to my friend driving at Laguna Seca, GM will be careful with this one. My friend was braking into corner #2 and the two thick aluminum supports on his huge rear wing collapsed. These snapped and they were even connected to the frame instead of the top of the back bumper. d) Coil overs are shown in drawings. I'll not jump to conclusions here as I'd like to. Yet these patent pending drawings are focusing on a system to control aerodynamics of a vehicle, not suspension. These could be generic suspension drawings, but I hope not.

As I see the patent, GM is planning on adjusting the car's ride height, both front and rear, t speed, in addition to the movable splitters, etc. It's quite evident in the various drawings. Remember the old "overload" shocks of yesteryear where you pumped in air into the shock, resulting in a raised vehicle in the rear. My 1965 El Camino had them as factory stock. I believe the inclusion of the coil over shocks in the patent application is the primary engineering design as a coil over shock would be much easer to raise/lower the car at speed, vs trying to do that with leaf springs.
As for the retractable front splitter, this is already in use in other cars, as is the radiator shutters(even the Cruz ECO has them; they are placed in front of the radiator not aft like in the GM patent). That's not a new idea. Same with the Mercedes AMG GT R with it's movable front belly pan(instead of a splitter) and it's shutters in front of the radiator.
