As I've reported here several times in the past, I know a guy that has a brother-in-law, who went to high school with a guy that has a former step father that is a minority owner in both a Chevy and Cadillac dealership. Based on a conversation a while back, but not all that long ago; there is a possibility that a MR car is made as a Chevy AND a Caddy...but more information will be known when it come out...
I know a retired GM marketing exec that was head of the 1988-89 Corvette Challenge series(and was a personal friend with Dave Hill, Corvette Chief Engineer).
I also know a retired GM engineer that was Manager of Reliability Engineering.
I also knew a guy that was an actual Corvette engineer(haven't seen in a while though).
None of them will tell me **** about any future Corvettes.
You sure are lucky to get all the sweet info that I can't manage to get.

So what if the article is from 99.!!!!! The fact is cadillac is going to be built at bowling green!!!!!! Fact#2 cadillac has let it be known that there will be a mid engine cadillac deal with that!!!!!!. The mid engine c8 will be built after the cadillac mid engine!!!!!.
As for your "facts," so you are 100% confident that the ME is going to be a Cadillac and that it will be built as a Cadillac in Bowling Green and that a ME 8th Generation Corvette will be built after the ME Cadillac? If you knew as much as you think you know, you'd know that the ME car is not going to be the 8th Generation Corvette (C8). Again, I'm not saying that the ME car isn't going to be a Cadillac. I'm just saying you might not know as much as you think you know because I know you're wrong about at least one of the items you posted as "fact." But, like I always say, time will tell.

Too many to count
The Cadillac Cien is actually 15 years old now, having hit the show circuit in 2002. I still like it's looks also

Well, posting an article from 1999 as if in some way it validates your claim casts doubt on your credibility regarding any other information you claim to know.

You can cyber yell all you want, but it still doesn't change the fact that not once have I disagreed that the ME might be a Cadillac. By the way, I can also post links to articles saying it won't be a Cadillac. Little pieces of info picked up from various GM sources have pointed both ways over the last couple of years. This isn't life or death and nothing to get anxious about either way.

The look doesn't make me want to run out a purchase like the first time I saw the C7. I suggest, start with the fuel cap and redesign from there, then replace the fuel cap. Just all wrong!

I can give you just as many "expert" links saying the ME car is a Corvette, and here's a note to self....some guy writing stuff on the internet is just doing what I'm going....GUESSING. As I stated earlier, a mid-engine Cadillac does ZERO for Cadillac....it doesn't drive showroom traffic any more than the R8 or NSX do. People spoke of the NSX as some kind of savior for Acura, not only did it NOT do that, now they have a very expensive car sitting there doing nothing. Everyone speaks of "HALO" cars, like the car is some kind of art work. Well, HALO cars still have to SELL. Sinking a billion dollars (or more) into a car that is going to be showroom candy but never LEAVE the showroom ain't how it works, in the real car business, not the pretend internet car business. The Viper is Dodge's "Halo" car....how'd that work out?
So, settle down. If it is a Cadillac, then you win. But, I've already given you REAL reasons why it should be a Corvette (see my post #30 in this thread), we'll know soon enough.

Not yelling just trying to state the facts. I am a long time corvette owner. I have owned 5 corvettes. I am really disappointed that GM has decided to launch the Mid Engine in a Cadillac brand car. The information i received comes from a Top Level Gm engineer who i have known for 10 years. I believe he is correct in the information he has passed on to me.

JimmyB, that's awesome! Dogs NEVER LIE!!!!
I didn't reply on purpose-no use arguing with someone who stands by an 11 year old article that swears it's still gospel.....and now I believe him too!
I'm sure nothing has changed in 11 years at Cadillac and Chevrolet. Both are still on course with 11 year old predictions.

Makes sense to sell a the car as a Caddy. The new State of the art IMSA race cars are Caddies. Racing is the best form of marketing these types of cars and they just won three races in a row,,. and No more Daytona Corvette prototypes so that might be a hint . Go up market with the Mid-engine car and leave the Corvette configuration as is.. Maybe there will be a bow tie version later..
