My only big decision is what color to get. Currently I live in a smallish city (50,000) and drive a velocity yellow vert with a personalized plate. Sometimes I worry that I'm too well known and one day the gendarmes will nail me for something. My other car is a 2018 Golf R in grey that's got massive performance while being virtually invisible.

So, I'm torn between getting a black/ grey/silver stealthy C8 or another yellow or maybe a red.

Opinions and votes appreciated.

Get whatever color and other options that excites your passion as you walk into your garage, see it across a parking lot, and similar!

There's nothing stealthy about a mid-engine sports car other than the stealth mode on its active exhaust. Well, I guess the Corvette also has a stealthy price tag. I would get it in whatever color looks best. If a color close to Daytona Sunrise is available, that's my #1 pick. I'd also go for a Lime Rock green coupe with a tan interior and gunmetal wheels.

No matter what, your C8 will stick out like an oak tree in an apple orchard. If I were you, I'd wait to see it in person at an auto show or even the NCM Bash if it's there. That's the best way to decide which color to get if you plan on ordering one before they enter production.

Sometimes, the car "leads" or speaks to a person and to the choice of a color. Not always, but sometimes. And, while I think it's always best (for me) to see the colors offered before I buy a car, sometimes that can't be done. It will be interesting to see what the range of colors are for this new generation.

Thanks for your thoughts. Corvette traditionally seems to have had a fairly limited "traditional" color range. All pretty conservative. The changes for 2019 are a replacement grey and blue https://www.corvettemuseum.org/two-n...2019-corvette/ . I'd like to see a whole car in the grey.

here's the stats for the 2017 MY: The only colors in that group I'd categorize in the "flamboyant" team are the reds and yellow, totalling 24% of sales.

Color defines the owner.

You're either a LOOK at me kind of guy or a I love cars but would rather not get the public attention on the road kind of guy. It's decided by the individuals need for public notice and approval.

White is my usual choice.

In early 1997, when the new C5 was released It was almost impossible to walk into a dealer's showroom and see all the colors in person. I was interested in the Light Carmine Metallic Red but my local dealer didn't have one in that color. So I made a special trip to Bloomington Gold in Springfield, IL hoping to see the Light Carmine Metallic Red. I was able to see every color offered on the 1997 C5, all in one location.

When I returned home, I special ordered a new C5 in Light Carmine Metallic Red.

I completely agree it is difficult (if not impossible) to see all the colors---both exterior AND interior. For my last car, I wanted the orange exterior, and was "interested" in the new, pictures-only, sienna two-tone interior. But, because no one had the interior (and they weren't going to have it for months), and I was ordering at the beginning of production (first day to order) I went with a safe interior color: gray.

One of the reasons I always go to the BASH, for while we do not always see every single color, with the display Corvettes brings on their transporters as well as those driven there by the GM engineers, we see at least 2/3’s+ of the available colors. At this BASH, I believe we saw every single color.

Seeing a Corvette in different colors before ordering person is imporant — especially as the ME will look so different. And if GM ups the number of colors next year to 12 as the new paint show is capable, that will mean not just eight carryovers, but 4 brand new 2020 colors.

Typically, the BASH attracts 1,250-1,600, but I am guessing that next year there will be 3,000+, and while color choice will be less important to those who know exactly what color they want (especially if it is one of the eight carryover colors), for those who have seen the ME in just one or two colors at the reveal, the Chicago or NY auto shows, seeing ME’s in additional colors, will be a critical secondary reason to attend next year’s BASH.

I know I will be back next year for ME color and many other reasons.

One thought as to interior colors. A month prior to both the 2014 and 2015 BASH, as we had not seen all the new C7 interior colors yet, I contacted Ryan Vaughan, Chief Interior Designer, and asked him if he would please bring some good sized samples of all the new interior colors. He was happy to do so.

I will again contact Ryan a month before the 2019 BASH, and request that he again bring those ME interior samples.

When I was younger I loved yellow... car had to be yellow. Now I like white, silver, and a good shade of blue like Nassau or Jetstream. My plan is a silver C8 with red seats unless they come out with something close to Nassau or Jestream. Then it would be blue with grey seats.

I still love yellow, but it has to be the right shade. I hate Corvette Racing Yellow, it looks poor next to the best yellow of all time, the perfect shade, Velocity Yellow.

Which happens to be the color of my C6 GS Vert.

My spousal unit, who has no interest in cars, likes it because it's a "cheerful" color.

It is also an attention grabber, which I don't always want. At a cruise night yesterday I was admiring a C7 GS in the Watkins Glen grey with black wheels, which would be my choice in a C7, and I'm leaning towards for my C8. Except it will be a different grey by then.
