I would be shocked and amazed if GM were to debut both the ZR1 and mid-engine car at the same time...

Default Mid Engine Corvette should NOT be anything like a traditonal Corvette

I just can't wrap my head around a corvette with those proportions....if they don't make a front engine along side the rear engine car (and I don't think they will after the C7 ends production), the soul of corvette will never be the same.

We will have "corvette" but it won't be a corvette. Sort of like pointing at a dog and telling people it's a cat. I am both sad and excited at the same time and I don't know which way I am leaning...
A $150,000+ mid engine Corvette should not be anything like a Corvette. It should look completely different and exotic. Who would pay that much if it just looks like a highly modified C-7. They should take this concept and sell it under the Cadillac brand.

It's the Bruce/Caitlyn Jenner of Corvettes.

No problem...one will be a Chevy and one will be a Caddy.

How ever with 650 HP I don't feel under powered anyway. This is
my very humble opinion. My Z is artic white
I suggest you go to post #32 in this thread and see the power of camo. There is NO way to tell what the car is going to look like....seems the camo is doing it's job.

But would you really want the Vette to be Lambo-ish ?
Im not that old and I know I wouldn't want to be getting in and out of that thing every day.
I am hoping they get all the performance in a package that is as driver friendly as the current C7 if it will be the only corvette at some point. The c7 is a high performance daily driver. Bulls and Stallions- Snakes and GTs can't really do that... Comfortably. I hope they manage that miracle with the C8.

We will find out in a few months I guess.

In the meantime, I have my eye on a grand sport.

I want the C8 to be far beyond the C7 and to learn from the C7 mistakes.
Push the car to the breaking point and not have cooling or automatic problems or any new problems associated with the new car.Find them and fix them before releasing the car.

Send me to talk to Kim Jong-un. There will be peace. It's not hard.

I think some of the folks concerned about the rear of the test mule need to re-read "All Corvettes Are Red". We know that GM is famous for putting all kinds of Styrofoam under that camo. Also it wouldn't surprise me to find that a C5 or C6 bumper has been tacked on. It's just a test mule, not the real thing. When you see one without the camo and just the Zebra paint, like we've seen with some of the ZR1 pics, that's the time to get excited or depressed.
