Very cool ! Make mine Admiral Blue !! I'm putting in an order as soon as it shows up in an Auto Show. As far along as these shots suggest, that could be Detroit in early 2018. That would make it available in 2018 or 2019, probably as a 2019 or 2020 model. That squares with what a high level insider told me, three years ago !

I’ll take another 427 please. No blower, no turbo. There hasn’t been a bigger displacement engine this generation and some people would appreciate it

Or maybe GM will drag out their playbook and do what they did in the past when they chopped two cylinders off the front of their 5.7L V8 to make a 4.3L V6.

Would you accept a lighter 4.6L V6(based on the present LT1) in the mid engine with twin turbo's with around 500-525 HP as the base engine and 650-700 HP for the high performance version(with less curb weight than the current Z06)?

Nope. It's a vette. I want a V8 or nothing at all. Coming from a C6ZR1, I want at least 750hp. If possible, I would love a 383 stroker with boost. Think of the torque curve!!!

In a perfect world, and yes I know I'm just dreaming, but imagine a super car variant with a twin turbo, forged 427 as a "zora" package...

I agree ! A Corvette is a V-8 powered car. I prefer normally aspirated, but 600 HP is probably more than enough for me. DOHC's would be enough to get an LT1 block there now with a 7500 rpm redline.

BTW, rumor has it that the C7 frame is just modified with revised front and rear sub frames to make the ME C8. This allows a lot of commonality between the two lines of cars. Has anyone looked to see if the A and B pillars on this prototype are the same geometry as a C7 coupe ? They look pretty damn close to me.

Also, with the McDonald's sign in the background for reference, one ought to be able to get a pretty good estimate of wheelbase and front and rear overhangs. The car looks like a pretty good copy of a Ferrari 458 in terms of geometry.

I'll take mine in silver with those machined face/comp grey wheels.

Gonna be a long 1 - 2 year wait.

Plenty of time to start saving pennies (y). Man I don't know which color I'm going to get. I loved my VY ZR1, but maybe an inferno orange or white storm trooper look would do the trick.

We'll have some time to figure out colors. Mine will be silver. Had a couple widebody silver 6s. Miss that color - easy to maintain and shows off the lines.

Although I've always said I'd own a red vette, and haven't yet so . . . But I'll probably go silver.

I think that is a base 2018 Camero sans the rear spoiler.

Just googled 2018 Camero conv and it looks to me to look exactly like the yellow conv in this photo.

Just my guess. Definitely has different wheels than the rest of the mid engine mules in all the photos.

I bet it's a Camero.

It's a C7 convertible.

There was another article that talks about these pictures with other C7 vettes, but it's also pretty clear that it's a C7

Bottom half of the bumper of the yellow car is black....ala C7. I don't think the Camaro's have the bottom half black, but I could be wrong.
