Look at the pics I posted on post #20 on the first page and it gives more of a straight back view of the rear end. There were 5 total C8's in a row, followed by 2 C7's with manufacturer plates. Those were taken by a co worker as she pulled out of our work parking lot yesterday

I am sure it will look great, as I have thought every new generation has bested the previous ones, and I would imagine the current mule is a Frankenstein of parts for testing. However, the only assessment we can make on how it looks is what we see now, and not what might be.

Love the wheels and the sharp lines of it. Returns to the round eye tailights. That's no Cadillac.

If it has more space in the interior than the c7 I will buy one in the second year production.

This car (whether vette or caddy) will be stunning...and epic. As a McLaren owner, the proportions look to be perfect. Exotic appearance, fantastic forward sight lines, connection to the road, proper power plant, overall performance and access to service will make it incredibly successful. Despite being long overdue, GM is going to smash this thing out of the park. True to the GM heritage, nowhere else will you be able to find a car of this caliber at the price point. Give it some time to cure before being too judgemental at this point, because it will be really hard not to love the final product. Been chomping at the bit for well over 3 years, so it can't come soon enough. Now, the only question is when...and whether to trade the Z for a ZR1 in the meantime?!

I think it's at least a year out. They're gonna want the ZR1 to be available for a year before releasing the mid-engine.

Make curb weight less than 3,000 pounds and AWD/FWD and I'm in. But they'd better hurry because I'm old.

damn, I hope not three! That is a bit away! I would think with all these mules out they would be in the later stages! I just hope GM gives up a bone or something for the up coming Detroit show. Not a debut, but some solid info

It looks 'real' to me. If it comes in a 'vert', I'm all in. It will look great next to my Ferrari in the garage.

If it only comes in a 'coupe', I will have to reserve judgement.... but I'll likely still add one to my garage.

those are some sweet looking wheels; don't think I've ever seen quite that design before.

haha, well... f16 is a "mid-engine" but I am striving for the f-35! I leave in a little over to months to flight school! If that is what you are referencing

Really don't understand the negativity unless it's a bunch of ***** envy.

I for one am excited about a mid-engine Corvette. And I also know NO ONE knows what it actually looks like with all that camouflage. Hell, the spy shots of the Ferrari 488 did not look good either but the actual reveal was stunning.

So to the naysayers, take a step back and enjoy the moment. GM is spending a ton of money finally giving us a mid-engine. And hold your judgement until you actually see the car!

C'mon man

For those that THINK they can see through the camo, try this on for size.

And how it ended up looking (La Ferrari)

Well said jimmyb. I too can't understand all the naysayers who think they know what it actually looks like!

I think it looks great. I still love my 2017.

Regardless the projected $130K price is so far above my Johnny Lunchpail pay grade it's a little ridiculous.

You know what else is ridiculous? The Corvette Forum dick measuring contest which is 99% on paper and seems to have little connection to real world driving. Because I can hardly push the limits of my stock, non-Z06, non-Grand Sport Z51 Stingray on public roads. When I'm shooting gaps on the highway like I did as a kid in my dimply Japanese eco-boxes, it's like driving a CanAm racing car in a field of Hyundais. I rarely do that, in the C7 the car is so stupid fast it's dangerous.

The C6 was the fastest car I had ever driven, the C7 amps that up to some new insane level.

Frankly the thought of Corvette cowboys getting their hands on a 700+ hp mid-engined version is frightening. But not that frightening, as a group there is probably no safer group of high performance car owners/drivers than Corvette owners, and that's reflected in the car's amazingly reasonable insurance premiums. They don't get crashed very often. Much lower rates for example than I pay for my Toyota Prius.

I wonder if we're looking at a co-reveal with the ZR1 and ME?
