Because they've always been that way. Well, except when they were ovals, rounded squares, teardrop shaped, etc.

The C1 doesn't count until the advent of the boattail rear end. My point simply being is that it's time to get over the new tailight style once and for all.

I get ya.
Heck, some can't forgive GM for doing away with retractable headlights.

The only thing I still haven't gotten over was them abandoning opposing wipers with the C5. They would hide so neatly behind the raised center of the hood and IMO work better on big windshields. Oh well

Aerodynamics. Windshield angle dictates the way the wipers sweep

My Mercedes 4 door sedan has a .32 Cd and my C6 Z06 has a .34 Cd. My Mercedes is more aerodynamic than my C6.

My Mercedes has one wiper in the center of the windshield that sweeps 180 degrees, but my C6 has two with much less sweep.

Maybe the Corvette should only have one wiper, since it's more aerodynamic.

I am GM’s target demographic

34 married plenty of expenble income

My c7 has been Great and I’ve been eagerly awaiting these camo shots of the c8.

Im not really feeling it I gotta be honest. I’m probably going to buy a 14-15 GT3 over a new corvette.

Maybe I will feel differently about it unmasked but I doubt it.

Guaranteed that the final product will not look like what so many think this camo version looks like.

I think these are 2 different cars. The frontend don't look to be the same.

I think we're looking at the same car ... just at two different stages of development.

As mules are run, GM wants to test different aero components, and to do that while still running disguise cladding, they often change the shape of the cladding. This also can happen another reason, if their first cladding method is not secure enough and is repeatedly coming apart, as what happened for some pieces in the C5 development process.

And as Zymurgy posted above, the final product will look very different — if nothing else because GM is doing what they always do, running a classic “visual misdirection play,” having us think X while they are working on Y, specifically adding inches of padding here where not needed, leaving out some pieces during parts of the testing process so we can get confused as to what a part of the car looks like.

Or they deliberately show us an uncladded part that is dead wrong. I believe that is happening right now regarding the tailpipes — that in the end, they will look nothing like the Cadillac’s CTS-V pipes they have on it now.

I'm fascinated by the people that have already concluded that they don't like the looks of a fully cladded car dressed in camo...and definitely won't be buyers, despite knowing nothing about price or performance.

Pretty much the norm for this website. I've never seen as much negativity, pessimism, hostility, and self-righteous BS on any other car forum. Truly like a bunch elementary schoolers.

If anybody at GM even pays attention to what goes on here, they must be busting a gut at this dysfunctional microcosm of the car world.

False. Some of the pics were taken by an Admin at my work who is not a car enthusiast at all. She just saw them all wrapped up, thought it was weird and showed them to me later. She had no idea what she was looking at other than some weird looking wrapped car.

AMEN!

You could give some of these guys a 488 FOR FREE, and they would say: "RED, I gotta live with RED"
