C8 Corvette Spotted Testing On Track
Chevrolet has been keeping a very tight lid on their upcoming mid-engine Corvette most of what we’ve gathered so far are from accidental leaks. Even camouflaged test mules sightings are rare and now we have new spy shots of the prototype.
Of course the latest prototype is still under heavy camouflage while being test driven around a track, but when the engineers spotted the spy photographer they quickly stopped the car and proceeded to cover it with a second layer of camouflage. Of course the photographer managed to take a few shots of the production bodywork and somewhat exposed roof.
Coverings aside, there’s no hiding the distinctive mid-engine proportions of the Corvette. We can clearly see a much shorter dash-to-axle ratio compared to the current C7 Corvette alongside a longer rear deck and lower hood line. From the looks of it, there’s just enough space between the cabin and rear axle to mount a 6.2-liter dual-overhead cam V8 engine.
