Default Mid Engine C8 Corvette’s Front & Rear Body Panels Spotted in BG Paint Shop

IF these photos are real they are a big scoop along with the recent pics of the two mules being road tested.

Yea, I just got the e-mail from corvetteblogger about this and was going to post, but you beat me to it! Looks like those are the real deal. I bet GM will go after the temp worker who leaked these pics.

That looks slightly different than Torch Red. Less Orange.

IMO, those parts aren't for a ME.
Most likely for the ZR1.

Well we know the taillights will remain the same. Or am I blind?

The opening for the lens housing doesn't look the same to me at all.

Take a close look and you can see from the pics below that the inner most part of the opening is different, and that the outer area of the "C8's" seems to wrap around to the side more.

The rear bumper looks ugly imo, but I’m sure it’ll look better with a complete car.

How? The front looks nothing like the ZR1.

They could be part of a refreshed C7 too. They haven't changed the styling of the C7 so the writing is on the wall we will get a 'C8' that is just a reworked C7 soon.

FWIW

Those panels look very 'Corvette' to me. I don't see Cadillac in that styling.

I disagree. They haven’t done mid cycle refreshes on the corvette since the C4’s. The C5’s and C6’s all stayed the same throughout their generations run other than different models offered.

The C6 is a refreshed C5. What they learned from the C3 and C4 generations is to hold back updates and then create a 'new generation' which is what the C6 is. A 2013 C6 Vs. a 1997 C5 has about the same amount of difference as a 1996 C4 Vs. a 1984 C4 or a 1982 C2 and a 1968 C2.

It's clear they are doing the same hold back on the C7 so we should be seeing a C8 in 2020. It will have an updated body, interior, engine, transmission but will ride on the same platform as the C7.

Really the General just allows the mules to be driven because they don't want them seen or "allows" a camera to slip by the super secret sell your soul security. The Easter Bunny is real too. Carry on

Yea, those parts match the ME, not the ZR1. Also, the size of the air ducts tell me it's a performance car designed to breathe, so it's not simply a re-skinned C7.

Keep in mind that the critical vents to a ME car are usually in the rear.

Check out the rear vents on the ME Corvette and the lack relative lack of front vents:

This is very similar to how the first C6 pics were "leaked."

I was thinking the same thing, that's an awful lot of open area for a ME car's front bumper, but not for a FE, C8 car.
