Sorry fPilot... disagree on the Testarossa comparison...

... but totally agree that FirstVette is rockin' the renders.

I finally took a little time to try a rear view with some "rear glass" options based on the spy pics and leaked images and CAD drawings.

It's a bit rough but gives an idea of what "could be". I'm sure it's a bit over done and the real car will be very refined.

I see B&W painted camo under the black tarp over the rear glass area so I figured maybe there is some structure there similar to what I show.

Thoughts?

Thanks.!

Trying to work out if there will be active aero and how that may look.

Full wing...Pagani Huayra twin "flap wings?

At the very least I'd like to see an air tunnel from the top of the rear fender (shown in front view) to the rear for an under/over wing.

Thoughts?

With this config...it will follow along with the front view c3 update for a Mako-Shark type look, having the vert rear window. Not very usable, but am sure there will be a very nice rear view camera and global view to help reverse.

Fantastic renderings.Would it be possible to do a right rear rendering? This would complete our imaginations. Thanks.

These look awesome! Not sure if it’s gonna have the “fangs” of the 488 and I’m sure the headlights will look different but I think you’ve gotta be very close with the rear, great job!

Very nice work, and I love all the thinking here.
My thoughts from a engineers view is; that my C7 Z06 has 7 cooling radiators and the new ZR1 has 13 radiators for 755 HP. For a mid engine car with 800 to 1000 HP you need lots of cooling, a big engineering problem. The McLaren has shown us how they solved this in a production certified cars.
The 570S with V8 TT 562 HP has the side scopes in the rear on the outside.
The new 720 with 710HP TT V8 has the rear air ducted thru the doors as well as air coming from the headlights and radiators up front. The hot air from the front exiting on the sides will be sucked into the rear if on the sides.
I should also point out that the 720 has a movable rear wing and doors that allow old guys enter/exit. But costs are $250+ and $350+.
Corvette will offer many of these and I hope they have one of each to study But a lot cheaper$. Put me on the list. Jim

Thanks.

It makes sense that the car should have active aero but I can't tell from the rear CAD image if there is anything in place or room for it.

Can anyone tell if there are any clues of how it could work.?

The recessed version I am showing may not be possible but there may be room for a tilting spoiler/wing.

Thank you very much firstvettesoon! Great talent you are. If we get that kind of aero as you have “GIF” shown, so many follow-up questions in my mind...

* Will the active aero wing be on every model, only on the mid-version as an option, yet standard on ZORA???

* Will there be any option for driver setting while moving, or will all be aero-automatic and not driver controllable?

* Driver set-able only when parked?

* If not driver set-able when moving (as a balance/safety issue), IMO would be driver adjustable when the car is parked?

* Will wing settings be computer measured and recorded, and downloaded by GM at maintenance and service visits?

* Lastly, what percentage of Corvette owners would drive their ME so cautiously, that it never automatically goes into the highest wing setting (for no need for cornering stability)?

Fun things to think about.

GM, I am ready to order mine please.

.

Active aero would be awesome but I doubt GM will give us active aero considering associated cost and complexity. Both my Aventador and AMG GTS have dumb aero, the rear wing comes up once I get to certain speed and it remains there until speed drops to a certain level which causes unnecessary drag on straights. McLearan 675 on the other hand use the aero correctly and raise the wing only when needed during cornering and hard breaking. Lambo Perfomante also use a hollow stationary wing to do aero trickery to achive great cornering, but these translate into $$$. Regardless, it would be awesome to have active/smart aero on the ME Vette.

latest active aero version- large.

^^^

Thanks for the kind words...but I am only guessing and imagining what "could be" under that camo already.

Yeah...I don't see any mechanism in the leaked CAD drawings, but you never know. Could be old drawings ! ; )

Hoping GM blows our socks off !
