Dang, thought Zerv got the boot. Hopefully with some stroke of luck he keeps his job through all this. Thanks for risking it for the biscuit!

The amber marker lights have been separate in recent test cars.

Even though the component in the drawing looks like a lamp assembly, based on how the lights are shown in the spy shots, I do not think those are lamps in the drawings. To me, the lamps appear to run parallel with the side of the hood.

Notice the cad drawings showing the dct dual shafts in the transmission assembly as well as the LT1, LT4 derivative of the motor...
200 grand may be the high point but standard c8 will be priced similiarly to c7 give or take a few grand to start...options will probably be more expensive...

There isn't any freakin' way we are going to see a Chevrolet Corvette at $200k.
Unless we are talking about ADM by some a-hole dealer in Silicon Valley, it ain't going to happen.

I hope they dont go that route, I'm not dropping $200K on a Chevy.

I have no problem with the ME being worth $200,000, yet whose starting/entry cost is 1/3 of that, and can beat a great Ferrari.

In a couple of years, under $100k.

Other than possibly a few performance metrics, a Corvette will never be confused with a La Ferrari.

Melting Slicks
Corvettes have always competed performance wise easily with Porsche at a 1 to 2 price ratio or higher. Likewise with Ferrari at a 1 to 3 ratio or higher. The ME where it ends up at 200K is a bargain relative to the exotics. Studying Zerv's thread has been highly entertaining and informative but I'm certainly not trying to confuse anyone on the differences between Ferrari and Corvette.

IF the C8 goes completely to ME then I could see a entry level of 60-70k and then a top tier model of 175-200k priced very competitively with the 911 Turbo S. For all performance comparisons the 911 Turbo s is a supercar. And I would expect a 175k ME vette to be every bit comparable performance wise to the 720s, perfomante, 918, 488, etc.

You can also see the lower tip of the fender where it'll meet the front fascia bellow the headlight.

Huh? Am I reading this right? You believe all of a sudden Chevrolet which has been selling corvette for decades and is the “attainable” sports car is suddenly going to turn the C8 into an elite only car selling only north of 200k?! No way. MAYBE one trim level but no way is the entire C8 lineup going that much.

The actual C8 should clock in somewhere around $100-120k. It's possible there could be a budget friendly version in there too.

I think I started the $200k talk and people ran with it. But the thing is, when I mentioned $200k I was referring to my willingness to shell out cash for a wilder version of the 1992 Sting Ray III Concept.

No... there isn't a market for 30k/yr $100k cars... those if us in the $60k range who keep Corvette alive don't want Mustangs and camaros.
